The trailer for the special edition was revealed earlier in April during the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal, along with a host of other games. So far, gamers have largely speculated about what might accompany the Tarnished Edition. That’s why I’ve put together this guide with all the important information in case you’re planning to get the game for your Switch 2.

All new classes in Elden Ring Tarnished Edition

The news about the new content comes from Famitsu, where it has reported that there will be two new classes.

  • Knight of Ides
  • Heavy Knights

As of writing, we don’t have any other information regarding how the classes may look to what their in-game stats will be. If we guess purely by their names, Heavy Knights will be tanky and able to absorb a lot of damage. Knight of Ides could potentially be a hybrid class, but it’s all speculation at this point. We don’t even know how good the translation is at this point, so we will have to wait for FromSoftware to share more information.

Rise, Tarnished.

All new weapons in Elden Ring Tarnished Edition

Based on the information available, we will have three new looks for Torent as part of the edition. You will also get four new types of armor, weapons, and combat techniques.

There is a lot of unknown information at the moment. We don’t know what the armors and weapons will be, what they’ll look like, or how they could perform. FromSoftware also hasn’t announced a release date or price for the Tarnished Edition. With Elden Ring Nightreign scheduled for release at the end of May, the Tarnished Edition will likely have to wait. Unlike Tarnished, Nightreign will be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
