The Xbox Games Showcase, which originally streamed on June 9, introduced a continuation of the Life is Strange franchise through a world premiere, and it’s bringing everything back full circle.

Nine years after her debut in the series, Max Caulfield, the main protagonist of the original Life is Strange, is back in a supernatural murder mystery iteration of the series, Life is Strange: Double Exposure.

The trailer features an aged-up version of Max, now in her adult years, who is here to solve a mystery about what happened to her dead friend.

As she searches for clues about the murder and determines who’s trustworthy or not, we get a glimpse into her thoughts on her powers, which seem to be shunting her into alternate dimensions, and how they’ll impact the game’s story.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure will be released on October 29, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and PC
