Mortal Kombat X director Ed Boon is teasing a new character reveal.

During today's Mortal Kombat X livestream, NetherRealm said that a new character would be revealed "very soon".

Boon followed up with this teasing tweet suggesting the reveal will occur tomorrow:

And then this one, possibly hinting at the identity of the character to be shown off:

Naturally, our first thought was Johnny Cage. But then Boon said this:

Mortal Kombat X will debut Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. (Yeah, no, I don't know what she was thinking either.) Cassie Cage was seen in today's Kast, battling Quan Chi, and she has been shown before in combat with Kotal Kahn. Her variations were revealed today in a trailer which is currently exclusive to IGN:

So it seems unlikely that Cassie is the character we'll be seeing tomorrow. It's always worth remembering that Boon is a notorious troll, and Johnny Cage may well be on the agenda despite all information to date suggesting he won't be.
