Garry's Mod has sold 10 million copies, and the Game Police can't do a thing about it. Happy New Year!

Garry's Mod creator Garry Newman noted the milestone on Twitter yesterday. He modestly failed to mention that's up from 6 million sales in September 2014 - a pretty phenomenal sales tail showing few signs of slowing down.

The popular physics sandbox launched way back in 2004 as a free Half-life 2 mod, but shifted to a stand-alone commercial release in 2006. That makes it ten years old as a paid product, and in that time it's been updated almost non-stop, every couple of months - even as Newman's Facepunch Studios team moved onto crafting and survival sandbox Rust.

Stocked with Valve assets and greatly beloved of machinima creators, Garry's Mod is currently discounted to $2.50 thanks the dying hours of the Steam Winter Sale. It's available for Linux, Mac and PC.

Jesus christ. GMod sold its ten millionth copy over new years.
