Gears of War titles are occupying lots of top spots in Microsoft's most played backwards compatibility games on Xbox One.

Xbox 360 Gears of War games get played quite a bit by Xbox One owners, thanks to backwards compatibility. Officially released at the tail-end of 2015, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Judgement are among the top nine backwards compatibility games, according to developer The Coalition.

Rod Fergusson, studio head at The Coalition revealed this during a livestream of the season 1 finals of the Gears of War ESL league.

Gears of War 4, the upcoming sequel, is due out in fall 2016. A multiplayer beta will available in spring 2016.
