Rockstar has clarified that The Bank Robbery, and Gang Hideout is content only available in Red Dead Redemption 2's special editions.

Following yesterday's reveal of Red Dead Redemption 2's various editions, many fans had a few questions about some of the content bundled with the game's more expensive versions.

The special edition, and the ultimate edition both come with extra story content. Namely, a Bank Robbery Mission and Gang Hideout. Some believed this only meant special and ultimate edition owners will simply get early access to the content, but that is not the case.

Rockstar confirmed on Twitter that these two story DLCs make up part of the side content in the game, and they're available only in these editions.

The Bank Robbery and Gang Hideout included in the RDR2 Special Edition are side activities created specifically for that edition and are not part of the main story.

As you may imagine, the replies to the tweet are less than enthusiastic. Offering character skins and similar cosmetic DLC is one thing, but Rockstar fans are not used to missing out on content because they opted for the more reasonably priced version.

It's worth pointing out that this type content could simply be plentiful in the main game, and locking a segment of it away may end up being a much less deal than players imagine. Rockstar could also decide to make the content available at a later date, either by selling it or giving it away for free.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out October 26 on PS4, and Xbox One.
