We won't be hearing much about Neflix's The Witcher series for a while, at least from showrunner Lauren Hissrich.

The showrunner for The Witcher TV series adaption, Lauren Hissrich, is taking a hiatus from Twitter following tons of backlash over casting rumors regarding Ciri.

Apparently, a casting call noticed by Comic Book Resources on the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (requires a sub to read) suggested Geralt of Rivia’s adoptive daughter could be played by a woman of black, Asian or minority ethnic race (BAME).

The internet went nuts over the report which as yet to be confirmed, and bombarded Hissrich with tweets - both negative and positive (via PCgamesN). For this reason, Hissrich is taking a break from social media.

Since the show was announced, Hissrich has refused to comment on casting rumors, but as recently as Sunday she was watching casting for a "major Witcher role." That includes Roach.

It was announced last week Henry Cavill would play Geralt for Netflix’s Witcher series.

Netflix has greenlit an eight-episode season which is set to arrive on Netflix sometime around 2020.
