How to Get More Idol Slots in Your Map Device in Path of Exile Legacy of Phrecia
Screenshot by Prima GamesTo look at your Idol inventory, you must open your Map Device and look at the window next to the Map Receptacle. You’ll see a 6×7 grid with a few locked slots. Players start with at least 20 slots, which is already decent for buffing your maps. However, you want to unlock the whole Idol inventory, as it holds up to 32 available slots.
If you are farming some Idols and suddenly get one with several great modifiers, but its dimensions are too big to squeeze into your Idol inventory, you’ll miss out on some loot. Since Idols are not consumed, you must always use them for efficiency.
Your first endgame priority is to unlock these Idol slots, and here are the challenges you need to finish to unlock each locked slot:

All of these challenges come from the endgame favored map slot progression. Naturally, you’ll finish these if you try to complete all the bosses and collect all the atlas passive skill points. On the bright side, even bosses like Sirus aren’t included, which is rather surprising considering you have most of the pinnacle bosses here.

Can You Modify Idols in Path of Exile Legacy of Phrecia?
Image via Grinding Gear GamesIdols are completely unmodifiable, meaning you cannot use any form of currency to alter its affixes. For example, if you acquire a magic Idol, you cannot use a Regal Orb to turn it into a rare item with an additional modifier. The same goes for using Orb of Scouring on a rare Idol to clean the affixes.
However, Idols of the same type may be rerolled through any vendor using the 3:1 vendor recipe. Selling three Idols of the same type will result in a random unidentified Idol of the same type, giving you another shot at getting great affixes. You can also use a Recombinator in Kingsmarch to combine two decent Idols and have a chance to create a perfect one.
