Wizards Of The Coast Boss Wants Magic: The Gathering Cards To Be Printed For At Least Another 20 Or 30 Years
Magic: The Gathering is the longest-running Trading Card Game in history, and it's comfortably one of the two most-popular. While that popularity has taken a dent recently, with fans, collectors, and players regularly voicing their unhappiness with the TCG, it remains strong.
With new Secret Lair sets being announced at an alarming rate recently, there's no sign of MTG slowing down, and it looks like this will be the case for the forseeable future, with Wizard's of the Coast boss, John Hight, suggesting he wants the company to keep printing cards for the next 20 or 30 years, at least.

Before that, however, he visited Japanese news outlet 4Gamer, to discuss all things Magic: The Gathering and Wizards of the Coast. It was here that he revealed that MTG was nowhere near finished.
"One of my missions is to ensure that Duel Masters and Magic continue for another 20, 30 years, or even longer," he told 4Gamer (translated by TheGamer). "I want to emphasize that we have no intention of stopping printing cards. It's important that you can continue to play with the cards you collected 30 years ago."
I want to emphasize that we have no intention of stopping printing cards.
Now, this probably comes as no surprise, given the popularity of TCGs at the moment, especially Pokemon and Magic, alongside the fact that tabletop gaming makes up 77 percent of Wizard's total revenue, but it's grand to see a commitment from the top dog about the future.
