The good news is, there’s an easy solution. You only need to recruit the Alchemist, Alannah, to your camp at the Witch Tree.

So in this guide, you’ll learn how to find the Alchemist, what challenges to expect along the way, and, as a bonus, how to defeat the Fang Executioner.

How To Find The Alchemist Alannah

To find Alchemist Alannah, first, complete Guard Commander Clayborne’s quest to unlock the West Gate. Then, defeat the Fang Executioner to get the West Wickham Key. After that, make your way through Gloomroot Woods and rescue her from the wild flora.

It’s easier said than done, especially when there’s a mini-boss involved. Here is a complete walkthrough to help you get to Alannah’s location in Mandragora.

Unlock Ruins Of The West Wickham Witch Stones

Start at the Wickham Marketplace Witch Stone and go to the left. Once you’re through the West Gate, defeat the enemies you encounter and keep pushing forward. You’ll soon find a gate blocked by a red tree root. Destroy it to open the way.

Continue moving until you reach a glowing sewer entrance near the Ruins of the West Wickham Witch Stone. You’ll also notice a locked gate nearby, but you won’t be able to open it just yet. For now, jump into the glowing hole.

As soon as you reach the bottom, turn left and defeat the slimes. Jump across the gap, then fight through tentacles, rats, and more slimes. At the end of the sewer, you’ll find a green Diagram for Shattered Flamecore. Near it, there’s a door. Open it and head inside.

You’ll immediately face a rat and a Gremlin. Defeat them, then jump up the wall and onto the ledge. Watch out, another Gremlin is waiting for you.

Ascend to the next floor, push the box so you can jump up the higher ledge later. But before that, head right to find an elevator. Ride it down, go right, and destroy the red tree root blocking the gate.

Open it to unlock a shortcut to the Fang Executioner from the Ruins of West Wickham Witch Stone.

Now, go back and climb the box. Jump onto the ledge to reach the final floor.Defeat the Gremlin guarding the blue-glowing chest and loot it.

Once you’re ready, jump down, head right, and move past the gate. The Fang Executioner will be waiting for you.

How To Beat The Fang Executioner

The Fang Executioner can be tricky to deal with, especially once he summons his clone when his HP drops below 50 percent. Defeating him rewards you with the West Wickham Key and the Sanguine Kiss weapon. Here’s a breakdown of all Fang Executioner’s abilities and how to counter them:

The Fang Executioner leaps into the air and slams his daggers into the ground, dealing damage on impact.

When his HP drops below 50%, he and his shadow pull their daggers from the ground, powerful shockwaves will spread out to both sides.

Roll to the side to dodge the attack. While his daggers are stuck in the ground, you have a window to deal damage.

Once his HP drops below 50%, jump to avoid the shockwaves when he pulls the daggers out.

Blood Puddle

The Fang Executioner transforms into a blood puddle and follows you. If you stay in one spot, he’ll jump out of the puddle, dealing damage.

Stand still until the blood puddle stops moving, then roll at the last second to avoid the damage.

Blade Launch

The Fang Executioner crosses his arms over his shoulders and throws his dagger in a straight line.

Crouch down or roll to dodge.

Charged Swing

The Fang Executioner charges his daggers and then swings them around.

Move out of his range.

Rising Cut And Slam

The Fang Executioner performs an uppercut with his dagger, then slams both daggers into the ground.

Roll to dodge.

Blood Clone

Once his HP drops below 50%, the Fang Executioner uses Blood Puddle, leaving a bloody clone in his place. The clone repeats his attack after a short delay.

Position yourself near the clone so that when the Fang Executioner reappears, both he and his clone are in the same spot, on the same side.

This gives you more space to move and helps avoid overlapping damage. You don’t want to get caught in the middle while being attacked from both sides.

Alannah The Alchemist’s Location In Gloomroot Woods

Once you’ve defeated the Fang Executioner, head to the right and cross the broken bridge to reach another building. Collect the Mandrake. Nearby is a lever to lower the ladder. Pull it and descend.

You’ll land on a floor with a locked door to the left. Behind that locked door is a green Diagram. To get it, return to the broken bridge, drop down, and interact with the green orb to receive the Diagram: Royal Sceptre. Then, drop down to the last floor to find a door that leads back into the building.

Now, in the building, defeat the Gremlins and loot the place.Once you reach the lowest floor, head left and open the door to return to the sewer. Roll to avoid the thorny root above.

You’ll find a ladder with a glowing yellow light. Go up that ladder to return to the sewer entrance near the Ruins of the West Wickham Witch Stone.

Run past the elevator shortcut. Defeat the foolish enemy that rushes toward you. Then, make your way to the locked wooden door. Open it with the West Wickham Key, which you looted from the Fang Executioner.

You’ll face two hooded enemies. Focus on defeating the one on the higher platform first, as he can heal himself and the other enemy. Make your way to the left, toward the glowing light, and you’ll appear in Gloomroot Woods.

Cross the platforms and defeat the poison-spitting flower. You’ll see two paths: one leads up, and the other goes down. If you choose to go down, you’ll find a Forest Giant to fight. However, since your objective is Alannah, head upwards.

Climb the ledges, avoiding the thorny roots, and defeat the enemies along the way. Eventually, you’ll find the Diagram: Cornucopia. Drop down, head right, and you’ll see a hooded girl in green gathering herbs.

As you approach her, four poison-spitting plants will appear. They’re easy to defeat, so no need to worry. After you clear the area, two tougher carnivorous flowers will attack. Defeat them, then talk to Alannah and invite her to your camp.

Make sure to climb the ledge to the right and collect the Naceaia. When you bring it back to Alannah at the Witch Tree, she'll upgrade the potency of your Health Flask.
