Two Weeks Before Mario Kart World's Launch, Fans Share Their Biggest Worries About The Game
Summary
- After loads of waiting and anticipation, Mario Kart World and the Nintendo Switch 2 are nearly here.
- In a Reddit thread, MK fans discussed some of the worries they have about World ahead of its June 5 launch.
- Some of those fears relate to the roster, the map or even the number of hours available to play in a day.
If it wasn't already clear based on where we're at in the calendar, we are just 10 days away from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. That's 240 hours, 14,400 minutes or 864,000 seconds, if you want to get real technical.

PostsFirst up on the launch calendar is Mario Kart World, the first true Mario Kart game since 2014. As exciting as the prospect of a new Mario Kart is, some fans have some fears, and taking to Reddit, they shared some of the worries they have ahead of World's day-one launch.
Sorry Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you're not a true MK entry, at least not in my book.
For These Fans, Mario Kart World Has To Deliver On Its $80 Pricetag
From the start, one gamer listed the UI, particularly the character selection screen, as their biggest worry when it comes to World. "Horrendous UI that makes it take forever to find the character that I want, especially if it's a newcomer like Cow, Piranha Plant or Penguin," they wrote.
That's a valid point. Just ask any Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero fan how much a bad character select screen can impact things.
"The open world will be less exciting than I think it is," another user chimed in. The addition of the open map represents a major shift for the MK franchise, so there's the potential that it doesn't stick the landing immediately.
In an interesting shift of perspective, one gamer noted how Battle Mode could be disappointing, especially considering how little info there's been. Elsewhere, another user pointed to the roster for their concern. "The roster seen is the roster finished, at least until the DLC," they wrote.
The rest of the thread is an interesting look at how arguably Mario Kart's most exciting entry in years might also be its most divisive come launch. That said, one user summed up how lots of fans might be feeling ahead of launch. "Only having 24 hours in a day to play it," they wrote. Yup, having only so many hours to play every day is a valid worry.
