Summary

  • Marvel Rivals players are just realizing that the fog on certain maps can be used to hide the visual indicator that warns you when characters like Scarlet Witch are using their Ultimate.
  • Given that Scarlet Witch's Ultimate is easy to stop, hiding in the fog can be a better way to ensure you get the bomb off.

Marvel Rivals is a hero shooter that can be won and lost based on Ultimate usage. You have supports that can single-handedly win games by making everyone invincible, tanks that offer up incredible damage or protection (not you Peni), and pretty much every DPS character's Ultimate has the potential to completely wipe out an enemy team if used in the right place at the right time.

Scarlet Witch's Ultimate is a prime example of this, as she uses an explosion of PURE CHAOS to delete every enemy that it hits, apart from a couple of heroes with really high health pools. Of course, being able to do this instantly would be extremely broken - even by Marvel Rivals standards - so the Ultimate has a huge wind-up, a very loud sound cue, and a massive exclamation mark on top of that to make sure everyone knows it's coming.

As a result, Scarlet Witch's Ultimate is very easy to counter, which makes it one of the worst Ultimates in the game. Thankfully, there are ways you can make sure the bomb goes off, such as Magneto's bubble ability, Invisible Woman's shield, or a Doctor Strange portal, but one player has found another reliable way to make sure Wanda goes boom, and it isn't reliant on another player.

Marvel Rivals PSA: Fog Can Help You Wipe Teams With Scarlet Witch

First shared by a Reddit user called Bernarddy, they showcase their method for easy Wanda bombs on the Wakanda map Hall of Djalia, and it involves the fog that can appear right next to the final point. If you use Scarlet Witch's Ultimate inside the fog, it seems as though the visual indicator that tells you where she is doesn't show up if you're outside of it. You can still hear her scream, but you don't know where she is.

You can see it more clearly from the enemy Rocket Raccoon's point of view, as they only see the visual indicator once Wanda floats through the fog. Given that fights can get pretty hectic around that choke, not knowing where a Scarlet Witch Utimate is coming from has pretty good team wipe potential, as Bernarddy demonstrates.

If you're playing high-level games, where people usually have headsets, you may see its potential drop, but it should stop players from canceling the Ultimate so easily. That means, at the very least, you'll either make space on the objective, or get a kill or two if people aren't paying attention. It's another tool in the arsenal for all you struggling Scarlet Witch players out there, because boy does she need them if she doesn't have Doctor Strange.
