In this guide, we are going to take a look at how you can make traps, as well as how to use them. There are three traps in the game for three different animals; rabbits, birds, and rats. Let's take a look at the first trap that you will use in the game.

Rabbit traps are unlocked at the start of the game, and are fairly easy to make. In total, you will just need ten sticks, which is a material that can be found pretty much anywhere on the map.

With a rabbit trap built, all you need to do is place it! In general, rabbits appear everywhere on the map, so the exact location you place your trap doesn't matter. We recommend placing your trap in an area that you can easily access. For example, if you have a clearing behind your village, this makes a great spot.

After a day has passed, you can go back to your rabbit trap and retrieve hide and meat.

Bird Traps

Next, we have bird traps. These can be unlocked once you have 50 survival technology points. You can gain more survival points by participating in related activities, such as hunting and trapping rabbits.

Traps are sorted into the Furniture and Decorations category of the crafting menu.

With 50 points, you will unlock a variety of schemes, including the bird trap. Lastly, you just need to purchase the trap scheme with 80 coins.

To make the bird trap, all you need is two sticks and two rocks. Like rabbit traps, you can place the bird trap anywhere you like; the location has no impact on what you receive.

After a day has passed, you can return to the trap and obtain meat and feathers.

Rat Traps

The last type of trap that you can build is the rat trap. To craft a rat trap, you will need to have 500 survival technology points. Once you have enough, the rat trap scheme can be purchased for 200 coins.

From here, you just need three sticks to craft it. As with the other two traps, you can place this anywhere on the map.

Trap Limits

Although traps are simple to make, you will have a trap limit. At the start of the game, you will only be able to build one trap at a time, but this can be leveled up on the Hunting Skill Tree.

When you make it to tier three of the tree, you will have access to the 'Trapping Master' category, which has three levels. By leveling up your Trapping Master ability, you can add up to three more traps.

The number of traps that you can still build will be displayed when you go to craft the trap. For example, hovering over the rabbit trap in the crafting menu at the start of the game will display '0/1'. This means that you have no rabbit traps, and can place one more.

Trap Degradation

Traps will lose durability with each use. In total, you will be able to use a trap three times before you need to make a new one. Fortunately, you can quickly gather the materials to make additional traps.

That's all there is to know about traps! Overall, they are quite simple to use, and a great way to passively gain material.
