Summary
- Metal Gear Solid actor David Hayter hints that he's playing Snake again.
- it's unclear what project this is for since the Snake Eater remake is reusing voice lines from the original release.
Actor David Hayter strongly hints that he's playing Snake again in some kind of Metal Gear Solid project. This would be his first time recording new lines for the game series since 2010 when he appeared in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
This is unlikely to be for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as this is set to launch later this year, and Hayter says he has only just got into the recording studio. Instead, it's possible that he's playing Snake once again in a different project entirely, or has a smaller cameo in the remake.
David Hayter Teases Long-Awaited Return To The Role Of Snake
As you can see, Hayter isn't giving much away about this return to the role. He hasn't even explicitly stated that he is playing Snake again, but that's very much what's being implied.
If true, this return to the role of Snake would be a long time coming. Hayter has played various versions of Snake since Metal Gear Solid in 1998. After this, he appeared in Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, Guns of the Patriots, and more. He didn't, however, appear in Ground Zeroes or The Phantom Pain, with Kiefer Sufferland playing Snake instead.

David Hayter tells us that AI is a "toy, not a revolution", and can't replace the actors that bring characters to life.
PostsThere was some speculation that the Snake Eater remake would see Hayter reprise his role, since he voiced Snake in the original, but this was later shot down when Konami confirmed that it's reusing voice lines from the original release. It is possible that the devs brought Hayter in to record a cameo or perhaps a new line or two that wasn't in the original, but if he's only recording that now, his part is likely to be quite small.
We'll have to wait and see if this amounts to anything. In the meantime, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to launch this year.
