Snake Eater Remake Won't Release In 2024, Per Financial Documents
Summary
- Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater appears primed for a 2025 release date, and not 2024 as was originally rumored.
- Information about Snake Eater's potential release comes via financial documents released by Konami on Thursday.
- Should the game release in 2025, it'll join a packed slate of games, including Grand Theft Auto 6, Borderlands 4 and Assassin's Creed Shadows.
It appears that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami's planned remake of the seminal Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, won't be releasing in 2024 after all. Despite being rumored for a 2024 launch, the game appears to be primed for a 2025 release.
Information about the Snake Eater remake's whereabouts comes by way of Konami's own second quarter results for the 2025 fiscal year. Via those documents, which were released on Thursday, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has a TBD for its release date. Similar upcoming titles, such as the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection, do have a release date.

Of course, with November kicking off on Friday, it always seemed like a longshot that the game would squeak in before 2024 came to a close. Still, stranger things have happened before, and it would have been a welcome surprise if it had. However, seeing as that is no longer the case, Snake Eater will presumably join a packed 2025 slate of titles.

Should Snake Eater be released in 2025, it'll be just one of many highly anticipated titles to grace the year. For one, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was originally slated for a November release, will release in February 2025. Elsewhere, Obsidian's Avowed will also be released after a delay.
That's not to mention perhaps the biggest game of 2025 altogether — Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar's return to the GTA franchise has been long awaited, and will no doubt set records.
Other titles in the plans for 2025 include Borderlands 4, Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yōtei — the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. In other words, if you thought 2024 was a banging year for video games, then think again, because 2025 is truly shaping up to match or best it. Pray for those wallets, folks.
