Metaphor: ReFantazio - The New King Of The Imps Bounty Walkthrough
During your travels around the United Kingdom of Euchronia of Metaphor: ReFantazio, one of the locations you'll visit is Martira, Old Castle Town, and that means there are even more bounties up for grabs. One of the first bounties you can undertake from here is 'The New King of the Imps'.

Posts By Quinton O'ConnorThis bounty will take you to the Imp's Den - Goblin's Nest, which is full of various enemies and has a few items you can pick up too. Here's everything you need to know about this bounty.
How To Unlock The 'The New King Of The Imps' Bounty
You can undertake this from any Recruitment Centre, but you'll likely first spot it while in Martira. It can be accepted from late June (I accepted it on 6/30) and there is no deadline to complete it.
Heading to the Imp's Den will take up a day of your time, so bear that in mind when factoring in your calendar.
Quest Prep
You can visit the Vica Alba Tavern and speak to the Informant to buy information on the King of Imp's Den for 1,000 reeve. He tells you how to spawn the King Goborn as well as other tips, but we also cover all that here so feel free to save yourself some cash.
One tip the Informant gives you, which we'll echo, is that the Goborns you'll be tackling have no weaknesses. While the weaker ones are susceptible to Poison and Paralysis, you should be able to smash through these in the overworld, the bigger ones are the problem and luckily they are susceptible to Sleep.
It's worth popping to MesmerEyes Apothecary in Matira to grab some restorative items, as always, but grab some Slumberthorn (90 reeve each) to use on the Goborns and inflict Sleep if you want to make it easier.
Other curatives such as Notebook of Remembrance to cure Forget (275 reeve each) and Robust Remedy to cure Poison (100 reeve each) are also handy, but if you have Patra, just use that instead.
Recommended Party Setup
There are a few party setups that can work here, the main thing to avoid is using any Archetypes with Staves or Maces as this makes the Goborns angry and use Frenzy. Below we've detailed the setup that we used.
Don't use Healers or Mages.

Strategy
Protagonist
Seeker
Back
You want to have the Protagonist healing your party, especially as you'll either be facing a few Goborn or putting up with heftier damage from the King by tackling him solo. We recommend ensuring you have Medi inherited from Healer to make it easier to keep your party's HP topped up.
If you have two Inherited Skill slots for Seeker, we recommend using the second one for Patra to help cure status ailments.
Strohl
Warrior/Swordsman/Any
Front
Strohl is likely a beast on Warrior or Swordsman in your party, so let's use him at his best. However, any non-staff/mace Archetype is viable.
Hulkenberg
Knight/Mystic Knight/Any
Front
We recommend using Knight or Mystic Knight with Hulkenberg as that's likely her forté, but also because Pierce will help smash through the Vesps and Papyros in the area. Ultimately, any non-staff/mace Archetype can be used though.
How To Spawn The Goborn King
Once you enter the Imp's Den, you'll notice the Hexer Goborn Esto (the mage Goborns in the black robes) are marked on the map. You don't need to defeat them all, you simply need to defeat four in order for the Goborn King to appear. As soon as you defeat the fourth Hexer Goborn Esto, you'll automatically be thrown into combat with the Goborn King after a short cutscene.
These will have a mix of weaker Goborn and larger, harder-to-beat Goborn with them. The weaker ones can be defeated without entering a Squad Battle.
If you have Strohl as Swordsman, his Round Slash attack that targets multiple enemies is great for whittling down the group simultaenously.

Battle Strategy
If you spoke to the Knackered Soldier at the entrance to the Imp's Den, you'll have been told to ensure that the Goblin King is not the last one standing.
Essentially, if you take out all his adds, the Goborn King will buff himself with Unwavering Blade to dramatically increase his hit rate and evasion. I recommend killing at least the Goborn Hexer Esto, if not all bar one of the others, to minimise the amount of enemies you're facing.
You only need to keep one add alive to avoid the Goborn King buffing himself.
Goborn King and his add(s) will mainly deal in physical damage attacks (as you really should take out the Hexer first). Some of the attacks can be quite heavy hitting, so you'll want to stay on top of healing but also watch out for attacks that can inflict ailments such as Forget or Poison.
Maintain a consistent attack while ensuring your party stays healed, and you should have no trouble in dispatching this regent and his cronies.
Once you've defeated the Goborn King, you'll still need to take out the remaining add(s).
Rewards For Defeating The Goborn King
For defeating the Goborn King, you'll earn 16,000 reeve as well as earning four points of Courage once you hand in the Bounty.
You'll also get a Stunning Arrow and Scrapmetal Slab upon defeating the Goblin King and his entourage, as well as an Imp's Loincloth to hand into the Recruitment Centre.
