There is pretty much an endless amount of Minecraft seeds out there. When you create a new world, you can type in anything that you want, or nothing at all. With the Spring to Life update dropping in late March 2025, now is the perfect time to start from scratch.

Rather than picking a random seed to start with, we'll help you out! In this list, you can find some of the best Minecraft seeds to use for the 1.21.5 update. These will help you experience all there is without traveling too far. Overall, they are great seeds for any occasion.

7 Underground Lava Temple

Seed: 2482490754905255652

First up, we have a seed that takes you right above a Lava Temple. By this, we mean that it is literally right underneath where you spawn (you can reach here by jumping down a ravine from the surface desert).

This seed is perfect for the explorers out there, as you won't be able to simply jump down and experience it right away. As an added bonus, the temple is also located in an absolutely massive lush cave, which can make a perfect base location. Since it's right at spawn, it's easy to find as well.

6 Hidden Forest In Mountain Circle

Seed: 288493431

This seed seems simple enough, but there is a lot packed into this tiny area. First and foremost, it is a circular mountain range with a lake in the middle, which is an ideal building location. The mountains act as a natural barrier that can protect you or act as structural support.

Within the hidden center, you can find the aforementioned lake, as well as a Dark Forest (with mushroom trees!), a Pale Garden, and a lush cavern tucked away. The Pale Garden is especially noteworthy, as this newer biome is typically quite hard to find. This is the perfect seed if you are looking to experience a lot without traveling too far.

5 Mangrove Swamp

Seed: 4025804172371830787

It seems that whenever you want to find a swamp, there is none in range. With this seed, you can find both a large swamp and an incredibly expansive mangrove swamp. Additionally, there is a ruined Nether portal right near spawn that yields some resources.

Both of these swampy biomes can spawn firefly bushes, which is a new block in the Spring to Life update. If you've taken a long break from Minecraft and are just now coming back, this is also a good seed, as there are several newer blocks and mobs here, such as frogs, mangroves, and mud.

4 Taiga Village

Seed: -8763441924909362493

Next up, we have a seed that places you right on the edge of a taiga village. This also happens to be a seed that features a circle of mountains with an icy 'oasis' in the center. The Spring to Life update features new variations of mobs, and right after spawning in, we spotted two cold pigs.

In general, villages are a great starting point, as you can loot the resources there. In this seed, you can simply take a bed and some food to help you get started. We also found a house that contained a chest with an empty bundle, which is a fairly new addition to the game.

3 Desert Badlands

Seed: -3373198683487676029

Sometimes, you just want the simple things in life. In this case, it's to look at the newly added cactus flower, which spawns on top of cacti. If you need more to convince you to use this seed, you can also find other features just around spawn.

When you load into a world with this seed, you'll see a small Badlands area, as well as a river that cuts through the desert. Very close nearby, you'll also find a Desert Temple, a village, and even a coral reef right next to the village. If you head across the coral reef, you can find some giant sandy islands that make great base locations too.

2 Pillager Outpost

Seed: 15915942998

If you are looking for a challenge, then this is the perfect seed for you. Rather than starting in a village or any other safe location, this seed puts you right in a pillager outpost. Things will immediately start out difficult, but if you manage to survive, you have several nearby locations to explore. There are five villages within the area, with one being found north of the outpost.

Additionally, if you head west (and slightly north) of the outpost, you can find a small mountain with a Cherry Grove biome that is surrounded by two villagers. There is a lot of looting to do in this seed, making it great for building up your supplies early.

1 Shipwreck Beach

Seed: 497012475558842182

Last but not least, we have a Minecraft seed that plops you down near a beach that has its very own shipwreck. Around the area, you can also find a village, a jungle, and a savanna. Under the surface of this seed lies several caverns and ravines that are perfect for exploration.

We even took a peek under the jungle and found an abandoned mineshaft, which typically yields tons of resources. Overall, there is a lot packed into a small area with this seed, giving you plenty of things to do without needing to travel too far.
