The land of Aionios in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a world filled with war and destruction, as the opposing Agnian and Kevesi soldiers fight one another to fill up the Flame Clocks tied to their survival. By fighting in order to live, the characters unwittingly further Moebius’ plans; however, there are those, like the main characters, who break free from the Flame Clocks to oppose the Consuls.

The game is full of content, with a wealth of characters, each with their own engaging stories. Although being set in the war-torn world of Aionios means there are a lot of sad moments, even among the destruction, there are heartwarming moments to be experienced, that build on the characters’ relationships and overall highlights the happiness that the party is fighting to protect.
7 Fiona Is Reassured By The Colony
One of the youngest commanders in Aionios, Fiona earned her rank unwittingly, with the Consul promoting her as punishment for daring to question them. Regardless of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her promotion and her young age, Fiona works hard to better Colony Mu and is respected by the people who live there.
This is demonstrated during her Ascension Quest, when Fiona opens up and apologizes for keeping the truth about Irma from her colony. The people of Colony Mu share a touching moment, as they agree to help Fiona shoulder her burdens and work together for the future of the colony.
6 Zeon And Juniper Become Friends
As part of Zeon’s Ascension Quest, Zeon and the party enlist the help of Juniper, the commander of Colony Tau, to solve Colony 9’s food shortages. After Juniper helps Zeon to successfully plant and harvest Spongy Spuds, Colony 9 and Colony Tau form an alliance, with Zeon welcoming Juniper to visit the colony any time they like, as thanks.

Although Zeon’s quest is humorous at times, seeing Keves and Agnus work together is heartwarming, as, without the influence of their Consul, Colony 9 is able to create partnerships with their previous enemies.
5 Rest Spot Scenes
With Xenoblade Chronicles 3 being action-packed, the quiet moments, where the characters are able to relax, are all the more prominent. The game shows these moments at Rest Spots, places where the party can unwind and discuss the information they’ve gathered on their travels.
At the campfire, you’re treated to sweet moments between the party members. For example, in one Rest Spot scene, Eunie is seen resting her head on Sena’s shoulder to catch up on some much-needed sleep. In another, Lanz and Sena do push-ups side by side. Depending on the Hero you have in your party, there are rare Rest Spot scenes that show off the different personalities of these characters.
4 Taion Meets Nimue Again
While in Colony Lambda, Nimue acted as Taion’s mentor, but was unfortunately killed, leading Taion to blame himself for her death. During Taion’s Side Story, it’s revealed that Nimue was born again and stationed in another colony, albeit young and without her previous memories.

Adamant to not fail his mentor once again, Taion helps to protect the Lost Colony. Although Nimue can’t remember Taion, their reunion is a heartwarming one, as Nimue and Taion’s roles become reversed, with Taion taking on the position of elder mentor.
3 Taion Gives Eunie Tea
Despite having largely opposing personalities, Eunie and Taion are able to come to an understanding and grow closer throughout the narrative. A moment showcasing how their friendship has evolved is in chapter three, where Taion offers Eunie tea to calm her after she witnesses the devastated Gold Rank colony.
Although a small moment, this shows a different side to Taion’s character, as he recognizes a similarity between himself and Eunie, and is able to offer her comfort. From this moment onward, Eunie and Taion become closer - although they may butt heads sometimes, through Interlinking and spending more time together, they see past their differences and forge a friendship.
2 Noah And Mio Swap Flutes
Noah and Mio act as offseers for Keves and Agnus respectively, playing melodies with their flutes in order to help soldiers who have fallen in battle pass on. Despite originally being from opposing colonies, Noah and Mio share a similarity through this duty.

During their journey to reach Keves Castle, Noah and Mio share a touching moment where they discuss Mio’s feelings regarding her homecoming, as well as the fact that Mio inherited her flute from her friend Miyabi. Just as Miyabi gave her flute to Mio in her stead, Noah and Mio exchange flutes in the hopes that he can continue to use it after Mio’s time runs out. This moment is both heartwarming and tragic, as the flutes are incredibly important to them as offseers, bringing them closer together despite Mio’s limited time.
1 The Party Sees A Baby
After arriving in the City, Noah and the party are introduced to a new way of life outside the Consuls’ control. As those in Agnus and Keves are “born” as child soldiers, the party has to be introduced to the concept of childbirth and meet a newborn baby for the first time while in the City.
Aside from being a culture shock for the party, each of them is overwhelmed by seeing the baby, with even the usually collected Taion being overcome with joy when the baby holds onto his pinky finger. This is an incredibly heartwarming moment and a turning point in the game’s narrative, as each party member gets to see what life could be like outside of Moebius’ never-ending war, giving them even more of an incentive to keep fighting.
