What a great time to be an Elder Scrolls fan. After getting multiple editions of the same game over and over again, the community is eating well thanks to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. Not only has the game delighted fans of the original, but it has also roped in a whole new generation of fans. To add to that, we also have Skyblivion to look forward to – a remake of Oblivion within Skyrim.

However, it doesn't end there. It seems that after Bethesda showed some love to the Skyblivion team, there's been a major update on a similar project for Morrowind. Skywind is a remake of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind in Skyrim, and it just received a stunning 20-minute trailer. As I said, it's a great time to be an Elder Scrolls fan.

Skywind Reveals A Lengthy Gameplay Trailer

"Skywind is a total recreation of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, built from the ground up in the more modern Skyrim: Special Edition engine," says the project's website. "Skywind sheds the shackles of the older game, bringing modern graphics, assets, and sounds, a full cast of voice actors, and all the benefits of fifteen years of gaming improvements, while preserving the incredible characters, locations, and quests with which Morrowind charmed the world all those years ago."

Much like Skyblivion, the project is completely fan-made, and aims to recreate the magic of the 2002 RPG in relatively modern fidelity, using Skyrim. The trailer gives us a good look at how far along the project has come. We get to see Buckmoth, Hla Oad, Ashurnibibi, and even get an overall progress report.

Apart from the visuals, the team is introducing voice lines, which weren't available at all in the original game, via a full voice cast, rerecording the original game's soundtrack, upgrading the lighting system, and including a variable weather system as well. However, while this trailer shows some great progress, it doesn't look like Skywind will be launching anytime soon.

Hopefully, it will act as a great filler during the wait for The Elder Scrolls 6, which will launch sometime this decade.
