Factions are accessed from level 17 in New World: Aeternum. You will naturally reach this point just by playing the main story quest. Once you hit level 17, you'll be able to see three faction symbols in Everfall. You can choose to complete all the faction quests or just pick the faction you want to play with. All you have to do is follow a short quest, and you'll be able to join the faction and access the faction board.

Joining a faction is basically a necessity in New World: Aeternum as it allows you to access faction quests, faction gear, and the opportunity to join a company to take part in some of the game's PvP.

Where To Join Factions

Faction quests spawn in Everfall at level 17. You'll see the flags appear for the Syndicate, the Covenant, and the Marauders. These are the three factions you can choose from in the game.

Head over to one of the flags to begin the faction questline. The quests will be located in the matching outpost for that faction. You can complete each quest for each faction before deciding which one to choose.

Which Faction Should You Choose In New World?

There are very few actual differences between the three factions, and the decision is more likely to be based on the population of your server, whether you have any friends playing as well, or if you have a specific company you'd like to join.

There's a 30-day restriction where you are unable to change factions again once making your decision, so choose wisely!

That being said, we absolutely recommend that you pick a faction. The rewards you get at around the level 20 mark can be earned by completing a single faction quest with the daily boost.

These can be used to purchase a great armor set and weapons that will be better than anything you are able to loot at that time.

All faction armor pieces come with Constitution as the main stat, which might not fit your build. To change the main stat line of a faction piece, purchase one of the seals available on the faction store. A Scholar seal, for example, will add Intelligence to the piece of gear when crafted at the outfitting station.

Factions will remain important for the rest of the game, allowing you access to faction PvP, wars between companies, and better rewards later in the game - including gear, equipment and material chests, and gold.
