Don't Worry, You Can Still Make Abominations In Oblivion Remastered's Character Creator
Summary
- Don't worry, you'll still be able to create horrible monstrosities with Oblivion Remastered's character creator, and we're already seeing some creep onto social media.
- Players have been sharing their hideous character creations on Twitter and Reddit, as orcs with round heads, creepy Simpsons recreations, and more are being shared.
When I think of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, what comes to mind first is the incredible comedic timing, silly dialogue, and the ability to create the most monstrous main character you've ever seen in a video game. If your Oblivion protagonist doesn't have a tiny face, eyeballs that clip through their eyelids, and skin that glows, then you're not playing Oblivion correctly.
With the recent release of Oblivion Remastered - and its fancy, souped-up, realistic graphics - there was always the possibility that Bethesda could have removed some of the features that allowed players to make pure abominations. For all of you concerned about that possibility, you'll be pleased to know that Oblivion's ability to produce the stuff of nightmares is unchanged.
Oblivion Remastered Players Are Making Monsters With The Character Creator, Because Of Course
It's been less than 24 hours since launch, but we're already seeing some of the most hideous beings the human mind could come up with haunt social media. A Twitter user called Dillon Rogers shared a few of their creations earlier today, which are just horrible-looking Orcs with extremely round heads and faces that only a mother could love, and even then she'd be having second thoughts.
Another user called ghost_charm managed to recreate "Da FISH" meme that circulated within the Oblivion community a few years ago, and there have been so many horrible creations so far that the Oblivion Abominations subreddit is now flooded with new characters. You have everything from truly cursed goblins, to people recreating Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons, bright yellow skin included.

You're now given the option to further customize your character's backstory by picking between two origins for each race, so now you can choose whether your horrible Nord abomination hails from Eastern or Western Skyrim. Hey, it's nice to have options.
