Four Million Of Us Have Played Oblivion Remastered So Far
Summary
- Oblivion Remastered has reached four million players so far.
- This is less than a week after its launch.
- This makes up players across all platforms, including those playing through Game Pass.
Without any marketing, and shadowdropping on a random Tuesday, Oblivion Remastered has proven to be a huge hit. Granted, we knew about its existence through a whole lot of leaks, but it's still a game that went live while it was being announced, showing just how many people were eager to explore this fan-favourite Elder Scrolls game.
Now, we have a better idea of just how successful it's been. Bethesda has revealed that Oblivion Remastered has amassed four million players across all platforms so far. It's unclear how many of these are sales and how many are those playing through Xbox Game Pass, but either way, this is a huge win for Bethesda and Virtuos.
To Little Surprise, Oblivion Remastered Is A Huge Success
This momentum isn't slowing down just yet. Oblivion Remastered's concurrent player record on Steam is 190,119, and that was set three days ago. Right now, there are 140,767 people playing the game on the platform, so there's a very real chance that this record will be broken over the weekend, as more people have the time to sit down and return to Cyrodiil.
Perhaps most importantly, this is a huge multiplatform win for Xbox, after it had previously made games such as this exclusive to PC and its own consoles. With that in mind, we can probably expect other Bethesda games to also launch on PlayStation, although we're still waiting for Starfield to make the leap.
Oblivion Remastered is out now. It is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
