Summary

  • Oblivion Remastered players think they've spotted Skyrim's Throat of the World in the distance.
  • It does make geographical sense.
  • Some joked that it's a teaser for a new Skyrim edition.

You have to admit, when Bethesda officially teased Oblivion Remastered, there was a tiny part of you that feared that it was going to be another Skyrim edition. We've had seven different versions of the game, and may still have to wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 to come out sometime in the next five years. Thankfully, Oblivion Remastered is the perfect way to keep fans occupied and keep anticipation high.

The game has been immensely successful in the little time it's been out, garnering an all-time high concurrent player count of over 190,000. Players are in awe of how stunning the reworked visuals look, and are also glad that the devs left in its charming jank and bloopers. However, it seems that we did get a little bit of Skyrim with this launch as well.

You Can See Skyrim In Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remaster

As spotted by one Redditor, if you head up the mountains in the far north of Cyrodiil, you may be able to see a really tall peal in the distance. While the game doesn't tell you, that tall mountain could likely be The Throat of the World from Skyrim. It's the tallest peak in Tamriel, and is to the north of Cyrodiil, so it's extremely plausible.

Players seem to agree that it is the place where you learn the iconic Thu'um in Skyrim. It seems to be a running theme in The Elder Scrolls series, as another player pointed out – "If you go to the top of the Throat of the World and look south, you can just see the top of White Gold Tower."

"Man that mountain looks tall, I sure hope they will make a game where you can go there," joked another comment. Someone even took a jab at the numerous Skyrim releases, saying, "Todd found a way to put Skyrim in another game."

Who knows? Maybe Bethesda is teasing another Skyrim edition with this – the Switch 2 is coming out soon, after all.
