The Shivering Isles was originally a separate DLC, but its inclusion in Oblivion Remastered makes jumping into this unusual world seamless. Even if you've only completed a handful of main story quests, the Shivering Isles will have an unusual surprise, as a man named Pyke has ties to the Cheydinhal-based Knights of the Thorn.

PostsHowever, Pyke is no longer tied to the group, as he retired to start a new life in the Shivering Isles. While retiring to the Daedric Prince of Madness' realm doesn't exactly sound like a fun time, Pyke doesn't seem to mind it here, save for the Grummites who stole his precious medallion.
How To Start To Help A Hero
CloseDuring your journeys throughout the Shivering Isles, you'll hear tales of a former Knight of the Thorn who has taken up residence here from some of the citizens.
However, if you want to start the quest, To Help a Hero, you'll first need to make your way to Hale, a small settlement northwest of Milchar and the Overlook Road, but southeast of The Isle of Flame along the coast.
Once here, seek out a man named Pyke, who you'll learn is a Knight of the Thorn.
You may recognize this as the same group Farwil Indarys (from The Wayward Knight quest) belonged to.
Pyke will explain that he came to explore the Shivering Isles, but some attacking Grummites stole his cherished medallion that symbolized his affiliation with the venerable Knights of the Thorn, and he needs you to recover it for him.
Pyke sends you off to Fetid Grove, which is southeast of Overlook Road, on a small island surrounded by water.
How To Find Pyke's Medallion
CloseAfter you've made the short trek over to Fetid Grove, you'll immediately be attacked by Grummites; dispatch them, then use the Root Door to enter Fetid Grove.
Inside, you'll find the first hallway to be quiet. Open the root door blocking your way, and keep going along the linear path north. Dispatch the Grummites you run into and follow your marker into the Fetid Grove, Encampment section.
Progress further north into this next area, following the lower path until you reach a set of stairs that you can ascend to the upper portion of this encampment.
Defeat the Grummites patrolling this area and approach the small area with a chest and two tables; loot the chest to find Pyke's Medallion inside.
With the medallion in hand, backtrack out of Fetid Grove, battling your way through the remaining Grummites. Once you're out of the grove, fast travel back to Hale, and speak to Pyke.
What Rewards Do You Get From 'To Help A Hero'?
CloseReturn Pyke's Medallion, and he'll thank you for recovering it, offering his thanks.
Pyke also gives you the Thorn Shield, which fortifies Block by 20 points and Reflects Spell by 20 percent – a powerful shield for Heavy Armor aficionados.
