Funko's New One Piece Mystery Pops Include Nightmare Luffy
Funko is officially expanding its still very new Pop Mystery range by adding One Piece characters to the collection. The first-ever One Piece Pop Mystery figures will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con next week, but TheGamer can exclusively give you a first look at all six, plus the seventh far rarer chase figure that the luckier One Piece fans among you might find.
Funko's First-Ever One Piece Pop Mystery Figures
FunkoThe Pop Mystery range currently features Flora and WB Horror collections. Similar to Funko's Mystery Minis, Pop Mystery figures are blind boxes in that you don't know which Pop you're going to get until you've removed the packaging. The key difference is that these are full-sized Funko Pops instead of the smaller versions you get with Mystery Minis.
There will be six characters to collect when the One Piece Pop Mystery range goes on sale through Funko's website and select retailers this September, the headliner being Nightmare Luffy. Luffy has taken on many forms throughout the One Piece anime, but Nightmare Luffy is one of the more terrifying transformations the Straw Hat Pirate has ever made. Luffy grew to an enormous size and turned blue, effectively becoming a powerful zombie after consuming 100 shadows.
Nightmare Luffy's Funko Pop Debut
FunkoThis is the first time Nightmare Luffy has ever been given the Funko Pop treatment, and if you want to add the figure to your collection, you're going to have to play the Pop Mystery odds. Joining Nightmare Luffy in the first-ever One Piece Pop Mystery drop are Perona, Ryuma, Gecko Moria, and two versions of Brook - one regular Pop, and a similar version that glows in the dark.
FunkoThere is a one in six chance of getting any of those six figures in each of the One Piece Pop Mystery boxes. However, there is a seventh Chase Pop which will be much harder to find. The One Piece Pop Mystery Chase is a second Perona figure; however, this version of the Ghost Princess is wearing a hat and accompanied by a couple of spirits. The odds of finding the alternate Perona chase are one in 72.
Every figure also comes with a matching collectible Pop card.
Each One Piece Pop Mystery figure costs $14.99, and if you're going to be at SDCC, you will be able to see them in person. Fans can also experience the One Piece Pop Mystery for the first time at Funko's Booth at SDCC this year. If you won't be at SDCC, you'll have to wait until September when the Pop Mystery figures go on sale.
