One of the most noticeable things about Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is its fairly small roster, which consists of just 10 starting characters from across The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

While 10 characters is a bit slim, Legends does have two more characters for the player to unlock, bringing the total up to 12 fighters. Here's how to unlock those bonus characters and fill the roster out.

How To Unlock Nightmare Korra

The first unlockable character in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is Nightmare Korra, who is earned fairly early on in the game's story mode. Once you reach Chapter 6, you'll play as Nightmare Korra in the first battle of the "A Cold Welcome" chapter. Completing this fight will unlock Nightmare Korra for you, making her a pretty easy unlock.

Unsurprisingly, Nightmare Korra is a clone who is very similar to the original version of the character, but with some tweaked moves and unique animations. One of the more unique elements of Nightmare Korra is her suite of Phantom abilities, which let her teleport around the map and unleash devastating attacks on the opponent.

Outside of that, the two versions of Korra share a lot of similar moves, just with different effects and capabilities. It'll completely come down to preference, but I'd say that the original version of Korra is a stronger character overall due to her unique Avatar State mechanic and her more well-rounded moveset.

How To Unlock Avatar State Aang

Avatar State Aang is the second and final unlockable character in Avatar Legends, and is reached in a very similar way as Nightmare Korra. To get this more powerful version of Aang, you'll need to reach Chapter 11 and complete the "The Inner Battle" chapter, where you play as Avatar State Aang. After that, you'll gain permanent access to him.

This fight can actually be pretty difficult, especially since you won't have had any time to get used to Avatar Aang's moveset. If you want to cheese it, then forward heavy is a very reliable projectile.

Just like Nightmare Korra, Avatar State Aang is a clone of Aang that has some tweaked moves and a different overall feel. Avatar State Aang's biggest advantage is his tweaked Air Scooter, now called Avatar's Ascension, which can be used to fly around and even combo into other elemental attacks, like a powerful rock volley, a fireball that shoots up and comes back down later, and a water grab attack.

Avatar State Aang also has some strong projectile game with his Fire Fist move and the Avatar's Wrath finisher for the Ascension move, making him a decent variant of Aang. Again, though, I think the original version is a better character overall, and certainly one that's easier to come to terms with in the early hours of the game.

Unlocking both Nightmare Korra and Avatar State Aang will unlock the "Here Comes A New Challenger!" achievement, which is a nice bonus reward for finishing up the roster.
