Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC brings a handful of extra achievements/trophies for you to unlock. While you will get most of these by simply progressing through the story, a few of them require you to get out of your way. One such achievement/trophy is the 'Shape of a Man', which requires you to discover the fate of Rudolf Lane in the DLC.

Here is everything you need to know about what happened to Rudolf Lane in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Shape Of A Man

Similar to Murderer and Victim, this one also requires you to get the Security Clearance 03 Keycard. In order to get it, head over to the Painting Production floor. Once there, you will find it inside the Inventory Management room — it should be on the left side of the area.

If you are unable to access the area, be sure to flip the switch in the Panel Control Room, right next to the Break Room on the same floor.

After acquiring the Security Clearance 03 Keycard, head over to Holding & Observation, go down the small staircase in the middle of the room, and stay on the right side. You will need to inspect a few things here:

  1. The document on the floor, near the blood.
  2. The documents on the desk.
  3. The tape recorder next to the documents, on the same table.
  4. The document on a container, right outside the area.

Once you are done, head inside the room (Subject Observation) on the right — it should require the Security Clearance 03 Keycard that we collected earlier.

You must stay inside the room until the recording playing on the projector is completed; once it is done, a Painted enemy will spawn from the back wall. Remember that to defeat this enemy, you must use the Black Rock Launcher — it cannot be damaged by other weapons. Once it is defeated, you will get the 'Shape of a Man' achievement/trophy.

There's a chance you might be unable to unlock this achievement; if this happens, a possible solution is capping your FPS to 30 if you are playing on a PC. For those of you who are playing on consoles, switching to Quality Mode from the Graphics Menu also seems to help.
