To help your tavern thrive, you'll need to work alongside the merchant outside your establishment. On occasion, he'll ask you to help with a few requests–often to rescue his friends from a spot of trouble. We'll help you find the coachman in the forest and give him a proper meal pronto!

Where To Find The Guy In The Forest

Once the merchant tells you about a man and a wagon lost in the forest, you're left to your own devices to find and assist him. Since there's no map and no tracker to show you where to go, your only hint is to search the forest.

Despite the signs pointing you to the forest behind the tavern, you'll actually want to head towards the wheat fields south of the Tavern's entrance. Make your way towards the windmills, then take the path to the right to find the coachman sitting on a stump next to his wagon.

Talk to him to find out what happened and how you can help!

How To Fix The Wagon

If you take a look at the wagon, you'll notice it's covered in dirt and missing several key parts that make it run smoothly. All the wheels are missing, and there aren't any horses nearby to draw the carriage.

The coachman needs your help to get everything back so his carriage can be repaired. Local orcs took everything from his wagon, and the coachman isn't equipped to take them on.

Where To Find The Wagon Wheels

Not far from the wagon, just over the hill and a bit closer to the windmills, you'll find a camp of orcs. All four wheels will be hidden in this camp, but you'll need to deal with the three orcs first.

Make sure to bring health potions with you and your best weapons! The orcs aren't to be trifled with unprepared.

You can find the wagon wheels within the camp in these locations:

  • By the tree to the north. Here, just behind a red and blue tent, you'll find one of the wheels.
  • On the ground by a red tent. There's a wheel on the ground in front of the red tent stall on the northern side of the camp.
  • Resting on a red stall. To the south of the camp, another wheel can be found leaning against the stall with a red tarp.
  • Beside a blue tent. You'll find the last wheel beside a blue tent, in front of a weapon rack.

With all the wheels in your inventory, head back to the coachman to return them to him.

Repairing The Wagon

Now that you have the wheels, the coachman asks if you can repair the carriage. Equip each of the wheels, then place them on the empty axles.

You'll also need to clean the carriage with your broom for the coachman. There are ten spots of dirt around the wagon, with four on the left and right walls and two patches of dirt on the back.

Once the wagon is clean, talk to the coachman again. He needs help with a little more before he's ready to go!

How To Bait The Boars

Since his horse ran away, you'll need to corral a couple of boars to help pull his carriage. You can find boars all throughout the forest, and luring them to the carriage is a dangerous affair.

While boars won't attack you unprovoked, you'll have to strike them with your sword or fire an arrow to get their attention. Lead them towards the carriage, but be careful not to kill them in the process!

Beware of the boar's charge, as they'll ram into you and deal a lot of damage.

Once you have two boars lured to the carriage, they'll get suited up to draw the carriage. All that's left is to replenish the coachman's food supply for the road. He asks for a barrel of beer and ten loaves of barley bread.

You can brew the beer yourself or purchase it from the merchant to save time. To make the barley bread, you'll need 30 barley and ten portions of water. Deposit the ingredients into the stone oven and wait.

Make sure you have enough plates to carry it all, as you won't be getting them back, then bring it to the coachman.

He thanks you for the food and pays you handsomely for your efforts. Feel free to visit him and the boars any time, but the quest concludes and he won't ask anything else of you.
