There are a lot of ways to deal death in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Along with cannon fire from your Jackdaw, your main weapons in combat will be your trusty sword and flintlock pistols. However, not all weapons are created equal, as many of these weapons have unique passive abilities that can give you quite an edge in combat.

However, some swords and pistols are simply better than others in almost every scenario. If you're looking to snag the best weapons in Black Flag Resynced, here are which swords and pistols I recommend hunting down for your journey.

Best Swords

When it comes to picking the right sword to use, you have a few solid options throughout different stages of the game. While most swords do roughly the same damage, the big factors in whether a blade is worth using come down to its passive, inherent perk and how many takedowns you can chain with it.

While you can basically make do with any sword due to the game's combat system, some will give you a clear advantage in a hectic fight over others. So if you are out exploring the Caribbean or just struggling to complete a specific mission, here are three swords worth considering.

Persian Scimitars

The Persian Scimitars are an exceptionally strong pair of cutlasses that boast 38 base damage and perform the sweeping Heavy Strike attack. This alone makes it one of the highest-damage swords in the game, with its Heavy Strike ability allowing you to hit multiple foes in a single move, which is great for fighting boarding parties or during fort battles.

What pushes it over the edge is the ability to chain Takedowns across four enemies, with the passive ability making it so Brutes cannot ignore your takedown effect. This allows you to quickly and efficiently eliminate multiple enemies off a single perfect parry, without fear of a Brute stopping you mid-attack. Given how easy Takedowns are to trigger in Black Flag Resynced, this makes the Persian Scimitars a great option for all parts of the game.

You can unlock the Persian Scimitars by collecting six Weathered Map Pieces via the different smuggler's caves and then using the completed map to locate the treasure chest containing this weapon.

Order Of Gold

Our next sword is the Order of Gold, which has the unique design of having a flintlock pistol attached to the side. This allows you to fire up to two free bullets by holding down the Right Bumper. Not only does this deal damage, but it gives us the ability to quickly stagger all types of enemies who are within range. Just keep in mind, your target needs to be fairly close for the round to hit.

The Order of Gold also has solid base damage at 38 and can chain up to three Takedowns in a row. This gives you nice damage — especially when combined with the bullets you can fire between your slashes. To get this, fully upgrade the General Store at Great Inagua and then purchase the sword for 29,000 Reales.

Ezio's Swords

Finally, the last blades worth using during your Caribbean journey are Ezio's Swords. Unlocked by spending 1,500 Animus Keys in the Animus Store, this weapon gives you the ability to perfect parry unstoppable attacks. These are the moves some enemies will use that flash red right before they hit. Normally, your only option is to avoid them, but with Ezio's Swords you can parry these for a quick counter.

The Ezio's Swords' ability to perfect parry tougher enemies, such as Captains or Brutes, more than makes up for its lower base damage stat of 25. While you won't be cutting down foes quickly, if you want to focus more on being able to Takedown any foe with ease, then these swords are definitely worth snagging.

Best Pistols

As for pistols, we will be largely evaluating these based on their range, draw speed, and perk. Similar to legendary swords, all the legendary flintlocks come with a unique trait that largely determines if it's even worth acquiring. Pistols are exceptionally strong in Black Flag Resynced, as they can instantly kill nearly every enemy in the game with a single headshot.

Due to this, you can basically use any flintlock you want and have a decent amount of success. But if you really want to simplify the combat or just be a bit more stylish, here are the best pistols you can get.

Golden Flintlock Pistols

Starting out with the best pistol in the game, the Golden Flintlock has superb range and draw speed, making it great for quickly shooting an enemy before they're able to close the gap between you. It deals solid damage, but where it really shines if the unique perk that slows down time whenever you kill an enemy with it.

This ability lets you rapidly dispatch a whole group of enemies before they're even able to react. It's comically strong if you're accurate and really shines in ship boarding fights where you can rapidly thin out enemy numbers. Plus, they're super easy to get as you just need to upgrade the General Store at Great Inagua and purchase them for 18,000 Reales.

Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks

The other pistol worth considering is the Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks, which are unlocked via the Animus' Eye in the Dark reward path. While these pistols have less range and draw speed than the Golden Flintlocks, they more than make up for it in managing your ammo. Its perk causes every single pistol shot to ricochet onto another target.

What this means is that if you shoot an enemy in the leg, the ricocheted round will do the same. So if you headshot someone, the ricocheting bullet will hit the nearest enemy in the head as well. This lets you instantly kill two enemies with a single bullet, making it one of the deadliest weapons in the entire game. Great for basically every scenario, the Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks are definitely a bit overpowered for anyone who can constantly land headshots.
