Summary
- This Baldur's Gate 3 mod makes Alfira a permanent companion.
- She has her own moveset and can be levelled up, multiclassed and even respecced if you want.
Baldur's Gate 3's companions cover most of the classes, but even if you recruit everyone across a single playthrough, you're missing a monk, a sorcerer and a bard. Thankfully, we now have a mod that fixes that - and lets us see more of one of the loveliest characters in the game.
Alfira Joins The Party is a mod from Nexus user adriant1978. As the name suggests, it makes Alfira a permanent party member, letting you recruit the bard after you help her finish her song in Act 1. From here on out, she'll follow you on the path to Baldur's Gate, giving you a bard companion without having to respec or multiclass anyone else - although you can do both of those things with her build if you feel like it.
Recruitable Alfira Mod Comes To Baldur's Gate 3
The mod is still a work in progress, but right now, it works by having Alfira turn up at your camp when you long rest after meeting her in the druid grove. Anyone who's played as The Dark Urge will be familiar with this, as this is exactly what happens on that route. However, the scene will play out very differently, letting Alfira tag along for the ride.
Since Patch 7, Alfira has been able to join your party very, very temporarily if you're playing as The Dark Urge.
Of course, since she isn't a companion in the base game Alfira doesn't have any party banter or combat barks. She'll also have to have her involvement in the main story replaced by another NPC since she won't be around to follow the tieflings as they make their own way to Baldur's Gate.
While Alfira is only recruitable with mods in the base game, it's very possible that she was intended to be a companion at one stage in development. This was discovered when fans started using a mod that displays companion approval changes in dialogue, showing that Alfira had an unused approval system. Judging from this, it's possible that Larian was toying with the idea of letting her join the party, but decided against it.
