Summary

  • Baldur's Gate 3 finally has mods on console, and fans are head over heels for one in particular — Adjustable Party Limit.
  • Mods of this ilk have been incredibly popular on PC since the game launched last August.
  • APL does exactly what you'd expect, removing the four person party limit so that you can bring everyone in your camp along for the ride.

With community add-ons finally available on console, even more Baldur's Gate 3 players are enjoying the perks of the Party Limit Begone mod.

It does exactly what it says on the tin — gets rid of the four person party limit. You can now bring everyone in your camp with you as you adventure throughout the Sword Coast, and they'll even help you out in combat. The console equivalent, Adjustable Party Limit, does the same, although you can't long rest if you have more than three companions.

Of course, it trivialises most fights and makes Tactician a cakewalk, but it's an incredible tool for subsequent playthroughs if you want to unfold everyone's stories without fiddling around at camp.

Fans Are Ecstatic To Have The Mod On Console

One of the top posts on the game's subreddit at the time of writing is simply titled, "The party limit mod is amazing". With over 2,000 upvotes, the OP says that it "feels so cool to run around with every companion", able to hear all of the dialogue and interactions that they'd otherwise miss.

You even get approval and disapproval points for everyone.

Many in the comments share this sentiment, saying that they've "gotten so much banter" that they'd never heard before. Others are bringing companions with them that they'd otherwise never think to, like Jaheira, Minsc, and Halsin, but there's the big difficulty-shaped elephant in the room.

Baldur's Gate 3 is designed for a party of four, and having so many more people in a fight means you can easily overpower the hardest of enemies. That being said, modders are working to tweak the difficulty so that the game feels more balanced with a bigger group.
