One of the most underrated mobile games ever, The Letter is a frightening visual novel inspired by Japanese horror films like The Ring and Ju-On: The Grudge. When seven unlikely friends find a primitive chain letter in the haunted Ermengarde Mansion, they're chased by a vengeful ghost until they can find a way to break the curse.

In addition to its thrilling non-linear plot, the game excels thanks to its choice-based structure. Characters can live or die, become allies or enemies, find redemption, or give in to their inner demons. You can play several playthroughs, make different decisions, and get a completely new story each time.

11 Reigns

The Fate Of The Kingdom Rests In Your Hands

At its core, Reigns is all about making decisions. The premise is simple: you're a medieval king faced with a series of yes-or-no questions about how to rule your kingdom. Will you attack the invading army or take a defensive approach? Should you enforce the law with an iron fist or show leniency? The goal is to make strategic choices and stay in power for as long as possible.

Similar to a roguelike, you play multiple runs and try to get further each time - easier said than done, given your unpredictable nation. Allies can betray you, wars could start, and your subjects may even revolt. How you handle it is up to you.

10 Reigns: Her Majesty

Reigns But With A Queen This Time

Reigns: Her Majesty is the revolutionary follow-up to the smash swipe 'em up hit Reigns and it plays exactly the same as the previous game, only this time, you are the queen and you’ll need to make decisions on how to rule your kingdom and how to navigate the complex expectations placed on you as a woman in power.

At its core, this is a roguelike, so you’ll go through multiple reigns, trying to keep a careful balance between the four pillars of your kingdom: religion, the people, the army, and the treasury. Along the way, you’ll form alliances, uncover secrets, and watch out for betrayal - just your usual royal chaos.
