- Who Can You Recruit?
Biomutant is all about playing as a mutated creature in a doomed world. The world is coming to a terrible end thanks to the Worldeaters, and you may not be able to save it. Once you have defeated the first Worldeaterin the game, you will get a quest to find and speak to Out-of-Date at the World Tree.

He will inform you that he has repaired the Ark, a ship that will take seven passengers and leave the planet to its demise If you cannot succeed. Three seats are already taken in the Ark, one for you, one for Out-of-Date, and another for your chosen Sifu. It's up to you to choose the next four members of your crew.
How Recruiting Onto The Ark Works
The characters available for recruiting onto the Ark are set in stone. You cannot recruit random NPCs, they have to be one of the hand full made available, so there are 20 characters to choose from. Now, there are rules to who you take onto the Ark with you.
Each funny friend and creature in Biomutant has a certain amount of Light or Darkness to them, including yourself. No doubt you have already chosen which side you are on based on the Sifu you chose at the beginning of the game. Of the 20 characters you can bring onto the Ark, they may deny your invitation or accept it depending on if your Auras align.
Before asking a character if they would like to join you on the Ark, make sure their Aura aligns with yours. Once you offer someone a seat on the Ark, and they say no, you cannot ask them again. You can always change your Light and Dark ratio through various tasks and side quests within the game.
How To Gain Aura Points
Temples: To gain +2 Aura of either Light or Dark, interact with their respective Temples which can be found scattered around the world. Dark Temples will radiate Dark mist, while Light Temples will be bright.
Critters: There will be small insects or critters running through bushes sometimes. The interact button will prompt, allowing you to catch them with a net. You will be asked to keep the critter or kill it. Either or will grant you +1 Aura.
Captives: Around the world, there will be buildings harboring enemies and a single captive in a cage. After defeating the enemies, you can release the captive and either kill him or help him. This rewards you with +2 Dark if you kill the captive and +1 Light if you help them.
Quest Dialogue: During quests, your decisions and choice of dialogue can reward you with Light or Dark Aura points.
Every time you invite someone or decline a seat, your Light and Dark Aura have a little chat. Each time you decline a seat, your Dark Aura will raise, as leaving everyone to die but yourself is an evil thing to do. Each time you invite someone on the Ark, your Light Aura will raise.
Who Can You Recruit?
Before completing these characters' side quests, make sure you know if you will invite them or not. They will ask you about the Ark after their personal quests are complete, and you can't turn back without offering them a seat or leaving them. Once again, if they decline your invitation due to your Aura you cannot ask them again.
Some characters do not care what your Aura is and will accept your invitation either way. Check the table below to see which characters you can recruit onto the Ark and what their Aura's are.
Who you choose to be on the Ark with you does not affect the ending or any part of the game.
