Diablo 4 players seem to have mixed opinions on the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The story does little to improve upon that of the base game and there are complaints about the new region of Nahantu as well. However, the new Spiritborn class seems to be a hit, especially with one particular build.

Vessel of Hatred refines Diablo 4's endgame to a pristine shine, but it could be even better with some minor tweaks.

The Evade Eagle Spiritborn build is based on negating the Evade cooldown using Thunderspike for massive damage. It essentially lets you zoom across the map, decimating everything in sight, without any enemy getting an opportunity to attack you. However, it seems that this build is actually the result of a bug rather than simply being OP.

The Evade Eagle Spiritborn Build Is A Bug Which Will Soon Be Fixed

Diablo global director of community Adam Fletcher has taken to Twitter to explain that the reason the build is so powerful is that the Spiritborn is breaking animation frames, allowing it to zoom all over the map while being untouchable.

"We also looked at the Spiritborn's Evade cast animations that some are employing in specific builds," said Fletcher. "This is a bug as the Spiritborn is able to break animation frames during Evade immediately. We will be fixing this so you won't be able to Evade instantly during another one, and instead it will be normalized to the standard Evade cast rate in all situations."

The reason for addressing this bug now is apparently because it's "impairing other players and their experience in-game." Blizzard has previously mentioned that it will patch builds if they end up affecting the experience of other players, much like this one. The patch will be coming later this week.

Players Aren't Too Happy About This

It seems that despite being broken, Diablo 4 players really enjoy the Evade Eagle Spiritborn build. Many have even replied to Fletcher begging him not to nerf the build, going as far as saying it's currently the only reason to play the game.

"Just please don’t kill the evade build with that. It’s really a lot of fun right now, and I’m definitely not the only one! You can change everything else if it brings stability," says one comment. Others suggested addressing the issue it causes to other players, rather than nerfing the build itself. "It's the only time I've had fun in D4."

Despite the comments, it doesn't look like Diablo 4 is as unpopular as some might think. The game has brought in $150 million dollars in microtransactions alone. It can't be that bad if it's raking in that kind of money on post launch sales.
