Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Shares Way To Make Your Own Radio Playlist
Cyberpunk 2077 has gotten a ton of quality-of-life updates and new features since launch, but there's one we're still waiting on - playlists. At any given moment, you should have access to at least 13 radio stations (15 if we include ones specific to certain locations), giving us more than 150 songs to choose from.
Except we can't really choose them at all. We choose a radio station, and then just hope that the song we like comes on, assuming you even know which station plays what. Despite getting some changes to the radio in post-launch updates (being able to tune in on foot, and getting new stations), we never got the ability to choose what song we hear. Thankfully, that's where this fan comes in.
This Mod Lets You Create Your Own Radio Station In Cyberpunk 2077 - And Add Your Own Songs
CD Projekt RedMake Your Own Radio Station by Nexus Mods user GoatBible does exactly what it says on the tin. This lets you make your own station with any songs you desire, whether or not it's in the game.
As per the mod's description, you just drop any audio files you want into the folder for the new radio station. You can then tune in while you're playing the game, with your custom station appearing alongside all of the vanilla ones.
Now, if you want to keep things lore-friendly, you could limit yourself to songs that are already in the game. Personally, I would love to listen to I Really Want To Say At Your House and Delicate Weapon without the Ponpon Sh*t jump scare - and then be able to listen to some Samurai without having to change the station. But there are plenty of other tracks that feel like they'd be straight at home in Cyberpunk 2077, like any Grimes song (since she plays in-game artist, Lizzy Wizzy).
Sure, you could have Spotify on in the background with less faff, but there are quite a lot of benefits to doing it this way. For instance, you can pause the music without having to change the tab, and it will automatically pause whenever you enter a cutscene or an area that requires you to keep an ear out for something.
With music being so integral to Night City, I can see this mod taking off. It's available to download now if you play Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. Perhaps one day, CDPR will grace us with console mod support...
