From the day the news broke about Xbox attempting to acquire Activision Blizzard to now, the first Call Of Duty release under the Xbox banner has been a long time coming. That day is now almost upon us as the release of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is right around the corner, launching on October 25, 2024, on not only Xbox but on PC and PlayStation too.

Xbox Has Removed Its $1 Game Pass Trial So People Can't Use It For Black Ops 6

Xbox has quietly made sure no one will be able to play Black Ops 6 for $1 when it launches on Game Pass next week.

Even though Black Ops 6 will be available day one for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers - more on that later - some of you may still want to own a copy of the next CoD game, particularly if you don't own an Xbox. There are multiple editions to choose from and various pre-orders and bonuses attached to each, all of which is detailed below so you can make your decision ready for release day.

Differences Between Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Editions And Pre-Order Details

Black Ops 6 has a Standard Edition and a Vault Edition. Naturally the Vault Edition is slightly more expensive than the base version - $70 for the Standard, $100 for the Vault - but you can see everything you get for that additional $30 below and gauge whether it's worth it for yourself.

Standard Edition

Vault Edition

Woods Operator Pack (Pre-Order Bonus)

Hunters vs. Hunted Operator Pack

Mastercraft Weapon Collection

BlackCell (Season One)

GobbleGum Pack For Zombies

Both editions of Black Ops 6 previously included access to its beta as a pre-order bonus, but if you left it until now to buy the game, you've already missed out.

Pre-ordering either edition of the game will get you the Woods Operator Pack, but there's a catch. The pack is for use in Modern Warfare 3, not Black Ops 6. The good news is the bonus will unlock as soon as you place your pre-order, but it presumably won't be coming with you when you make the jump to the next game on October 25. All of the added bonuses included in the Vault Edition are for Black Ops 6.

Playing Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 On Game Pass

Even if you plan on playing Black Ops 6 through Game Pass, you don't necessarily need to settle for the Standard Edition. Only the base game will be included with Game Pass, but if you want the added extras that come with the Vault Edition, there is an option to buy everything that comes with it separately.

The Vault Edition Upgrade costs $30 and can be bought for Xbox or PC through the Xbox Games Store, and the PC version is also available on Steam. A reminder that due to Xbox's Game Pass changes over the summer, Black Ops 6 and other day one releases will only be available to Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
