However, like the many bosses featured in the game, it can be easier to take down once you know what its strengths and weaknesses are. The good thing is that the Chromatic Ballet has a few key weak points that could make this boss battle easier to manage.

Where To Locate The Chromatic Ballet

This optional boss is on a detached section on the far left side of The Continent. However, you can't get there in Act 1. This is because there is coral littered around the entrance of where you need to go. So, it'll be blocked for some time.

To reach this part of The Continent, first you need to make it to the story where Esquie learns the Coral Break Ability, which allows him to get through the blockades on the water. This can be done once you've completed the story events at Old Lumiere in Act 2.

Leave Old Lumiere and head into the water in front of the exit. When you're in the water, turn left, and keep going straight till you see passageways appear on your left.

Head into the farthest left river, and go down it. From there, go south. On your right and after a few dozen corals, you should see an opening of land with orange leaves flying around. By making it to shore, you'll be greeted by a new destination: Falling Leaves.

Falling Leaves is a high-level area. It would be a good idea to be around level 36 or above before attempting this fight.

How To Find Chromatic Ballet

Much like searching for other optional bosses, such as the Chromatic Abbest, this boss can be found somewhat close to the entrance. When you enter this new area, follow the lone path. At the end of this route, there will be a bridge with an Expedition Point. Walk on the bridge and go past the Expedition Point.

On the other side of the bridge, you can deal with the enemies roaming around. But, be warned, they are rather hard to beat. After that, stay on the same path. This will take you to a smaller open area with more enemies wandering around.

Find a small bridge on the other side; when you walk across the bridge, you get to finally meet the Chromatic Ballet.

How To Defeat The Chromatic Ballet

Instead of fighting one enemy, you'll be fighting three tough ones. All three share most of the same move set, but they have their distinct weaknesses, which, in turn, can help you focus your attacks better.

  • The left is weak to Fire.
  • The middle is weak to Dark.
  • The right is weak to Ice.

Best Set Up To Use

With this information, you should consider using party members who specialize in each weakness. So, a good team make-up could be any character that has elemental free aim. However, make sure those elements are based on the ones above.

For example, Maelle's free aim can cause Fire Damage, which may Burn the enemy on the left. Or Lune's free aim may have an Ice-Basedpassive that could do a lot of damage to the boss on the right side.

These bosses are flying; your skill attacks and your main attack are easier to dodge. In other words, you'll be using the free aim skill to do most of the work.

It would also be ideal to get Pictos that buff the free aim, like Breaking Shots, which allows for another Base Attack on the same turn. Or increase your free aim damage by 50 percent with Augmented Aim.

Dodging and parrying will be crucial in this fight, as the Chromatic Ballet attacks hurt. A good choice for a Picto would be Healing Parry, which yields around three percent of health on a successful parry.

You can also use Energising Parry, which rewards you with one Action Point if you make a parry. The more Action Points you have, the more free aim shots you can make in one turn.

How To Beat All Three Bosses

Most of your attacks will come from the free aim. So, to start your attack, use that move. If Maelle is starting the turn, as mentioned, her free aim could trigger Burn. If this activates early in the fight, you can chip away at the boss's health reliably.

This template can be followed by the other two party members, provided the free aim has the appropriate elemental buffs.

The Chromatic Ballet has a few attacks as well, all of which are easy to dodge. But, there are two of them that stand out the most. First, there is a wide, sweeping attack that you must jump and deflect. When you counter this attack, it does some impressively high damage.

Next, they use a blade-like attack that inflicts Charm. When it hits a party member, that member has a chance to attack fellow teammates.

Charm can last a few turns at most, so parrying this attack is important if you don't want to hurt your team. Consider equipping Anti-Charm, which is located in Sirenes.

When you parry successful attacks in succession, you can counter them and do massive damage. Plus, if any party member is using a weapon with Fire, Ice, or Dark attributes, the counter will do even more damage.

Beating the Chromatic Ballet is all about building your Action Points via dodging and parrying. When you gain points, put them towards the free aim, which uses a single point per shot.

Rewards For Beating Chromatic Ballet

The boss fight will take a while to beat since you have to get through three enemies at once. But the rewards you get should justify the challenge.

When you beat Chromatic Ballet, you'll earn:

  • One Recoat
  • 103,446 XP.
  • 18,045 Chroma
  • Six Resplendent Chroma Catalyst
  • 15 Colour of Lumina
  • Level 14 Blizzon for Sciel
