Capcom Says Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster Is "Definitely Possible"
Summary
- Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster only just released, but it seems that more remasters are possible in the future.
- During a recent interview, Deluxe Remaster's developers said that Dead Rising 2 getting the same treatment is "definitely possible".
- It seems that it'll all depend on how Deluxe Remaster sells, so it'll be some time until we know for sure.
The developers behind Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster have confirmed in a recent interview that Dead Rising 2 getting the same treatment is "definitely possible" in the future.
Even though the Dead Rising series has only just emerged from the grave that Dead Rising 4 left it in, it seems that the future of the series is a lot brighter than it's been in a long time. Not only do we finally have a remake (well, even if Capcom doesn't consider it to be one) of the iconic first game, but it looks like later entries could end up getting the same treatment.

Posts 1 By George FosterEarlier this week, Capcom celebrated Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster's launch by sharing a survey that asks fans what they want from the series next. While there is an option for a brand-new game, the most exciting part of the survey was the suggestion that Dead Rising 2 (and Off The Record) could end up getting a Deluxe Remaster, something that's now been confirmed by the game's developers.
Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster Is "Definitely Possible"
Inverse recently had the chance to speak with several members of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster development team, including director Ryosuke Murai, original game director Yoshinori Kawano, art director Satoshi Takamatsu, and producer Kei Morimoto. During the interview, the team is asked about the possibility of Chuck Greene getting his own remake next.
In response, Deluxe Remaster's producer, Kei Morimoto, says that a Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster or remake is "definitely possible", as long as the response and sales of the first game's remaster make it viable. Morimoto says that the team is "how Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster performs", and that if they find an "appropriate time" to sell a remake of Dead Rising 2, then it'd be considered.
Remaking or remastering Dead Rising 2 is definitely possible. For the time being, we’re monitoring market trends and how Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster performs. If we’re able to identify an appropriate time where we’d be able to sell a remake or remaster of Dead Rising 2, there’s potential for the project to be considered. - Kei Morimoto
The gist of it is that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster's sales need to impress Capcom in order for more games in the series to get remastered or remade. We don't know how the game is performing right now considering it's not been released physically yet, but we do at least know that it's reviewed well and has garnered a lot of love from fans.

With a crowded February launch, and a dated Ubisoft style behind it, the next few months of tweaks might not save Shadows from itself.
