Destiny 2: The Best Rolls For The Episode: Revenant Weapons
Destiny 2's Revenant episode is shaking things up for the seasonal grind. Revenant's seasonal offerings are not craftable this time, so you'll need to rely on Tonics or Onslaught to get your hands on these new guns. There are ten weapons to chase, so getting a perfect roll for every gun will take significantly longer than usual.

PostsThe good news is that these weapons are so powerful that they're worth the added RNG. New perks, interesting perk combinations, and reprised weapon archetypes we haven't seen in years all lead to an exciting new arsenal of weapons to chase. Let's dive into the best perks you can find on Revenant's seasonal weapons.
Bitter/Sweet
Bungie is making hotswap DPS loadouts even stronger in Revenant with the Envious Arsenal perk, which auto-reloads this weapon whenever you deal damage with your other two weapons. This has clear synergy with Bait and Switch for a constant 35% damage buff once you swap to this weapon. Use this weapon correctly, and you never have to reload.
Try to increase Bitter/Sweet's handling stat. It makes hotswapping weapons much more consistent.
You can also treat this GL as a debuff tool with the new Jolting Feedback perk in the second trait column, inflicting Jolt from continuous damage. It's not quite as strong as using Bait and Switch, but it's not a bad option.
As for PvP, don't use this GL. It lacks Impulse Amplifier and other neutral damage perks that help buff the gun's consistency. If you need a good PvP Grenade Launcher, focus Typhon GL5 from Banshee-44 or farm for Wendigo. There's nothing here for Crucible players.

Exuviae
Exuviae might be the best seasonal Hand Cannon we've received in Destiny 2, at least since Austringer. This gun's stat package is juiced, rivaling the classic Duke MK. 44 from Forsaken and outclassing most 120 Hand Cannons. Igneous Hammer still outclasses Exuviae in most categories, but that should be expected; this gun doesn't come from an endgame activity.
In PvE, this gun's claim to fame is similar to Eyasluna. You're using this gun with a Stasis build, as it's the only Hand Cannon that can roll with Rimestealer and Headstone. Precision kills will spawn a Stasis Crystal, and shattering said crystal will grant Frost Armor. It's a solid combination that excels in low-stakes PvE content. If you want a more generic workhorse Primary, you can't go wrong with Triple Tap and Frenzy.
Crucible fans should aim to get a roll with Keep Away and Precision Instrument. Keep Away gives a massive boost to your range and reload speed stats while you're dueling from a distance, while Precision Instrument's damage boost helps bypass Void Overshields and similar DR buffs. Buff the gun's handling and range stats, and you'll have a Stasis variant of Igneous Hammer.
Exuviae also has great Airborne Effectiveness stats if you want to fight in the air.

Heretic's Fervor
Rocket Launchers haven't seen a major shakeup since Apex Predator was updated with an S-tier perk pool. Heretic's Fervor doesn't compete with a raid Rocket Launcher by any stretch, but it's not a bad stopgap weapon for new and returning Guardians. The main draw here is Auto-Loading Holster paired with a damage perk—either Explosive Light for upfront damage or Bipod for higher total damage.
If you're looking for something more exciting, this is one of a select few Rocket Launchers that can get Slideshot in the first trait column. Fire a rocket, slide to load another round, and repeat. Just be courteous to fellow Guardians while using Slideshot. Don't slide inside a Well of Radiance with this thing.
Strangely, this gun can roll Quickdraw in both trait columns. It's unclear if this is intended.

PostsInsurmountable
We don't get many Precision Frame Sidearms in Destiny 2 these days. The last one we got was Boudica-C back in Season of the Plunder. Insurmountable is our first new 260 RPM Sidearm since Lonesome. It can't get Kill Clip, but it has something close: Harmony.
Sidearms are best used for quick close-range kills in the Crucible, so giving a Sidearm Harmony makes perfect sense. Get a kill with your other weapon, then swap to Insurmountable for a ludicrous 0.47s TTK. You can then throw on Air Trigger to greatly buff the gun's mid-air accuracy. You lose some airborne aim assist, but this gun's AE stat is so good that it's hardly noticeable. Throw on Steady Rounds and Icarus Grip to make this gun a PvP beast.
PvE enthusiasm isn't as great for Primary Sidearms, but that doesn't mean it's a bad gun. Insurmountable is tied with Anonymous Autumn for being the first Primary Sidearm to roll with Attrition Orbs, a solid choice for a fast-firing weapon class. You can pair this with One for All or Surrounded for a sizable damage buff—we suggest One for All.
You can get Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds on this gun if you want easy access to Void Overshields. We find it lackluster in most high-end PvE content, but it's an option.

Liturgy
Liturgy is the first Double-Fire GL to reside in the Kinetic slot. This archetype is used exclusively for DPS hotswap loadouts to squeeze out a little more damage in your rotation. Liturgy isn't quite as strong as Wild Style since it lacks a strong damage perk, but it makes up for this with utility.
Compared to Wild Style, Liturgy has a better auto-loading perk thanks to Envious Arsenal, and it's also the first Double-Fire GL to get Chill Clip. It won't automatically freeze targets in one projectile, but inflicting Slow this easily is great for crowd control and stunning Champion types. It's also great for proccing Fragments like Facet of Command or Whisper of Hedrons if you can quickly get two shots off. Does that overshadow Wild Style and a good Kinetic Special? Probably not, but the loadout flexibility is reason enough to get Liturgy.
Rimestealer pairs well with Chill Clip if you want to improve your build's survivability.

Noxious Vetiver
Noxious Vetiver sets itself apart from other 600 RPM SMGs with its strange perk pool. It's one of a select few weapons that can get Jolting Feedback, a new perk that inflicts Jolt on sustained damage, similar to how Overload Rounds work. It's arguably a better perk than Voltshot in harder content since it doesn't have a kill requirement. You can pair this with Loose Change for a constant reload speed boost, making this gun a powerful PvE workhorse.
If you're a Crucible fan, Noxious Vetiver is a tougher sell. Attrition Orbs and Target Lock is a solid combination for 1v1 dueling. Sustained damage will lower your headshot requirement for an optimal TTK and spawn an Orb of Power, which you can use to trigger Arc Weapon Surge mods on your boots to lower your TTK to 0.7s. However, if you're a PvP enthusiast and already have a good Shayura's Wrath or Unending Tempest, there's not much here.

Red Tape
There's not much to talk about with Red Tape. It's a 200 RPM Stasis Scout Rifle with solid perks, notably Rimestealer and Headstone. Land precision kills to spawn crystals, then shatter those crystals to give yourself Frost Armor. Beyond that, you're looking at classic combinations like Demolitionist with One for All or Explosive Payload. Mediocre describes it best.
Lightweight Scout Rifles aren't in a great spot in PvP right now, so there's not much reason to rock Red Tape in the Crucible unless you want to make Shaxx proud.

PostsScavenger's Fate
Hey, it's Dust Rock Blues in a trench coat. Scavenger's Fate is functionally identical to the Forsaken classic, although its stat package is marginally worse. Precision Frame Shotguns aren't in the best spot in PvE right now, but Scavenger's Fate is a decent enough Shotgun for PvP players.
If you're tired of using Matador, this gun might be a solid replacement. You can't get Opening Shot on Scavenger's Fate, but you can get the new Closing Time perk, which increases the gun's range, handling, and accuracy as your magazine gets lower. Throw on Slideshot for a second range boost, and you have a great Shotgun.

Sovereignty
Sovereignty is off to a bad start. It's a 90 RPM Sniper Rifle with a poor stat package, leagues behind Uzume RR4 and Eye of Sol. Even seasonal guns like Locus Locutus and Embraced Identity perform better. So why use Sovereignty? Withering Gaze. It's a new perk found in the second trait column that infuses your next round with a 15% Weaken debuff if you ADS for a few seconds. Put another way, it's Box Breathing's Void cousin. It pairs well with virtually any perk in the third column: dealer's choice.
Sniper mains shouldn't ignore this gun in PvP either. Despite its poor base stats, the 45 base zoom and high handling stats are ideal for quickscoping. Discord can roll in the first trait column, refunding Sniper rounds on kills while active. It also acts as a stronger version of Snapshot Sights while active. Anything in the second trait column will pair nicely.

Vantage Point
Adaptive Pulse Rifles aren't the greatest weapons in PvE, and Vantage Point is no exception. Stats for All paired with One for All is a solid enough workhorse for low-stakes content, but this gun is outclassed by the new two-burst archetype introduced in The Final Shape. You could try to use Jolting Feedback in place of One for All on this gun, yet the long ramp-up time on that perk makes it cumbersome to use on a Pulse Rifle.
Vantage Point can excel in the Crucible if you give it enough support. This archetype has a horrible TTK of 0.93s by default, but a simple x3 Weapon Surge is enough to drop your TTK to a much faster 0.6s. That's achievable with Mask of Bakris, Sanguine Alchemy, Eternal Warrior, or your everyday leg mods. Vantage Point can then pair the lethality boost with Desperado for a quick 0.5s TTK or Headseeker for more consistency.
