Let's go over how crafting works for Mythic Uniques, how much it costs, and give some tips on how you can farm for Resplendent Sparks.
Updated October 25, 2024, by Charles Burgar: Mythic Uniques have seen a small rework in Vessel of Hatred. These items can now be forged through Runewords or RNG loot caches, giving players some additional options for curating their endgame builds. We've updated this guide to include the new Rune Crafting mechanic and explain every new way you can earn Mythic Uniques in Vessel of Hatred.
How To Craft Mythic Uniques
There are currently two ways you can forge Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4. Both options will require two Resplendant Sparks, an incredibly rare currency you earn by dismantling Mythic Uniques and slaying difficult bosses.
- Blacksmith: Exchange two Resplendent Sparks to forge a random Mythic Unique.
- Jeweler: Exchange two Resplendant Sparks and Legendary Runes to forge a specific Mythic Unique.
- This requires Vessel of Hatred ownership.
Mythic Unique Cache
Every Blacksmith in town is able to refine your Resplendant Sparks into a Mythic Unique Cache, costing two sparks and 50,000,000 Gold. The Mythic Unique you get is completely random. This is a great option for kickstarting your Mythic Unique collection during the earlier parts of a season. However, if you're looking to target a certain item, you'll need to rely on Rune Crafting.
Farming Gold
The best Gold farm this season is the Infernal Hordes activity. Complete the highest tier that your build can comfortably farm. At the end of the run, deposit all of your Aether into the Gold chest. You'll earn 10M+ Gold per run.
Rune Crafting
A more deterministic option can be found at the Jeweler. Click the "Rune Crafting" tab and open the Mythic Unique section. This will showcase every Mythic Unique your class can currently make. Each Mythic Unique costs two Resplendant Sparks and a handful of Legendary Runes. The exact Rune required will depend on which item you're crafting.
You must own the Vessel of Hatred expansion to use this feature.
As for getting those Runes, you'll want to complete Kurast Undercity runs, farm Elite monsters, and farm endgame content. Once you have a stockpile, you can transmute them into rarer variants at the Jeweler through the same Rune Crafting menu. Keep forging higher-quality Runes until you can make the Mythic Unique you want. You can also trade for Runes from other players if RNG isn't in your favor.
How To Get Resplendent Sparks
As of Season of Hatred Rising, there are four ways you can earn Resplendent Sparks
- Dismantle Mythic Uniques - Every Mythic Unique you dismantle at the Blacksmith will give one Resplendent Spark.
- Tormented bosses are the best source of Mythic Uniques currently. You have five chances (1.5% each) of earning a Mythic Unique this way.
- Defeat your first Tormented Boss - The first Tormented boss you kill in a season will drop a Resplendent Spark. This cannot be farmed.
- This applies to every pinnacle boss you can summon.
- You may only earn one Resplendent Spark this way per season. Killing multiple Tormented Bosses will not drop additional Resplendant Sparks.
- Defeat Uber Lilith for the first time - The Level 100 version of Lilith drops a Resplendent Spark when you kill her. It's a slightly different version of the campaign fight. This cannot be farmed.
- Complete the Season Journey - Claiming the final set of Season Journey rewards will award a Destroyer's Cache, awarding one Resplendant Spark.
Generally, we recommend farming Tormented bosses to get your hands on Resplendent Sparks. Each boss has multiple chances of dropping a Mythic Unique (influenced by Torment difficulty), and your very first kill is guaranteed to award one Resplendent Spark. Farm Tormented bosses until you have enough spare Mythic Uniques to forge your desired item.
