PostsAs you’d expect, Pete Pan is Wasteland’s version of Peter Pan, and this quest tasks you with restoring his powers so he can redeem himself by rescuing the Sprite from Animatronic Captain Hook. There are quite a few ways you can tackle this quest, and we’ve covered them all below.
How To Get The Restore Pete Pan Quest
After clearing Tomorrow City, your next stop will be Ventureland and the stages of the Pirates of the Wasteland world. Before heading out, though, make sure to talk to Big Bad Pete in Mean Street. Once you’ve turned in the Defeat Petetronic quest, he’ll offer you the Restore Pete Pan quest.
With the Sprite captured by Animatronic Captain Hook, Pete Pan has lost his ability to fly, leaving him powerless against his foe. Your task in this quest is to journey through these stages, confront Hook, and free the Sprite to restore Pete Pan’s powers.
Where To Find Pete Pan
While locating Pete Pan isn’t a requirement for the quest, you can find him sitting atop the giant skull itself on Skull Island. You’ll reach this stage through the Shanghaied Projector Screen at the end of the Pirate Voyage level.
To get to Pete Pan, keep an eye out for the pirate ship wrecked on a cliff as you circle Skull Island. Once you find it, scale the ship and hop over to the platform with a pressure button. Pressing it will grant access to the inner upper part of the skull.
Once inside the skull, use paint to restore the thinned out bridge and ledge on the right, then unlock the gate using the gear mechanism. Outside the gate, jump across several platformsto the right to finally reach Pete Pan at the top of the Skull.
How To Get To The Jolly Roger
On Skull Island, your next objective is to reach the Jolly Roger ship, where Captain Hook has trapped the Sprite. You’ll need to raise Mr. Smee’s boat by thinning out three anchors hidden on the surrounding islands to get there. While these islands aren’t hard to find, the anchors are a bit tricky to locate.
- On one island with a lone Sweeper enemy, thin out the three painted rocks to reveal two wheels. Rotate them to connect the tracks and activate the gear mechanism. This will unlock a cave entrance below with one of the anchors.
- The second anchor is atop another island, concealed by a painted rock on which you must use the thinner to reveal it.
- For the third anchor, head to the final island. Climb it up, thin out the floor, and drop into the cave below. There, you’ll find the last anchor.
Once all three anchors are taken care of, you can ride Smee’s boat to the Jolly Roger and face Captain Hook.
How To Beat Animatronic Captain Hook
Upon reaching the Jolly Roger, you’ll immediately get the Free the Sprite task, which is collateral to the Restore Pete Pan quest. The Animatronic Captain Hook boss fight will begin as soon as you board the ship. There are three ways to deal with him.
The intended way is to let Pete Pan handle the fight, so you'll need to free the Sprite first. This entails navigating the ship’s rigging and masts until you reach the top, where she is caged.
Of course, Hook won’t make it easy for you and will shoot at you as you climb, but you can temporarily disable him with the Thinner to buy yourself some time.
Once you reach the cage, jump and perform a spinning attack to free the Sprite. This will consequently complete the Restore Pete Pan quest.
Alternatively, you can face Hook on the ship's deck. While he hides in barrels and throws bombs and Thinner at you, you can flush out his painted shell and hit him with a spinning attack. This will cause Hook to spin along the tracks on the deck.
Here’s where things get interesting. You can use the gear mechanism to align the tracks to the plank and throw Hook overboard, or let him crash enough times into the ground or ship walls by leaving the tracks disconnected. Either way, these methods also complete the boss fight.
If you go with either of these two combat options, you’ll need to free the Sprite after defeating Hook to be able to finish the Restore Pete Pan quest.
Rewards For Completing The Restore Pete Pan Quest
Completing the quest earns you the Hook vs. Pete Pan Pin, a Power Spark, and some E-Tickets from Big Bad Pete. Additionally, defeating Captain Hook yourself rewards you with the Captain Hook Pin as a bonus.
However, if you leave the Jolly Roger without rescuing the Sprite after the boss fight, you'll fail the quest entirely, and you won't get the rewards from Big Bad Pete.
