There's no early access period so provided you're reading this before release day, you've not fallen behind everybody else. There's still time to place a pre-order to make sure you spend Halloween and beyond playing a new Dragon Age game. There are two editions to choose from though, as well as the confusion caused by Rook's Coffer. Everything you need to know about that and The Veilguard's various editions, including what's included and how much they cost, can be found below.

Even if you only fancy the Standard Edition of The Veilguard, there's still something extra up for grabs as long as you place your pre-order before release day. The Blood Armor set is available with both editions of the game as a pre-order bonus, and those who have been playing Dragon Age for a while might recognize it. The armor set is a popular look that was first used in Dragon Age Origins. Even Mass Effect fans might recognize it as homages to the look have been included in BioWare's other big series.

Rook's Coffer

via BioWare

The Veilguard doesn't have a collector's edition. However, it does have something called Rook's Coffer which has made it one of quite a few games released in 2024 to confuse people when it comes to collector's editions. Rook's Coffer was revealed when pre-orders for The Veilguard went live, and while it's packed with Dragon Age goodies, it doesn't include a copy of the game.

If you want a copy of the game alongside the cards, die, and dagger included with Rook's Coffer, you will need to pre-order it separately. Or you can go to GameStop where the game and Rook's Coffer have been bundled together for $219.99. Rook's Coffer and The Veilguard will both be released on October 31, 2024.
