Summary

  • The modding community is hard at work in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, adding characters and other oddities to help make the game even more fun than it already is.
  • A new creator has put together what a fusion between Gohan and Goku would play like, if the two split the Potara earings.
  • Unfortunately, that specific mod has a bug that is preventing it from being shared, though the creator is actively working on resolving it.
  • In the past, Dragon Ball games have toyed with the idea of non-canon fusions, so this is just more of what the community has come to know.

With Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero releasing simultaneously on console, as well as PC, it was only a matter of time before the larger modding community would do their thing and make the game even more fun than it already is.

Already, the community has been hard at work, adding Beast Gohan to the game, along with a playable version of Chi-Chi, who was oddly absent from the game's launch roster. Heck, there's even a mod that puts CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas into the game. No, we're not joking.

NexusMods

Memes aside, a new modder has stepped up to the table to provide one of the biggest "What If" fusions ever — Goku and Gohan.

Taking to Twitter, the creator gave us a first-hand glimpse at what could have been if Goku and his son, Gohan, split the iconic Potara earrings. The result is an amazing creation, worthy of the game's larger roster. Unfortunately, as of this writing, the mod is available for mass download due to a bug that the creator is actively working on.

Dragon Ball Games Have Toyed With Fusions Before

Longtime Dragon Ball fans may recall the asurd amount of fusions that have existed in past games. For example, in Budokai 2, there was a large number of ungodly fusions that were present in the game. Super Buu had some unique absorptions, but the real treat were the fusions between Goku and Mr. Satan and Tien and Yamcha.

There was also a game literally dedicated to fusions, called Dragon Ball Fusions — real creative, we know. But that game is responsible for even bringing up the idea of a Gohan/Goku fusion, along with dozens of other creations. Sadly, the game was a handheld exclusive.

Either way, it's cool to see the Sparking Zero community band together to create some additional content that the game may have overlooked. Perhaps we can get a Trunks/Vegeta fusion to play against Goku/Gohan. Now, that would be awesome.
