However, if you're using one of the bigger teams in career mode, you should be able to afford at least one of the best central midfield players in EA FC 25's career mode.
10 Eduardo Camavinga – Real Madrid
Real Madrid boasts an embarrassment of riches in the center of the park, with more options than could fit on this list. Aurelien Tchouameni is an excellent alternative to Eduardo Camavinga, but given how similar their roles are, Camavinga offers a slightly cheaper alternative.
Prepare to see other midfielders from Real Madrid, as they will be your main source if you want to buy a talented, young midfielder.
Think of them as your one-stop midfield shop.
Eduardo Camavinga excels at the defensive aspects of the game, offering left-back services as his alternate position if you happen to need him to do a job there. He's a steadying force in the midfield and you can't go wrong with either Camavinga or Tchouameni – it's your choice.
9 Xavi Simons – RB Leipzig
Xavi Simons offers a complementary skillset to Eduardo Camavinga if you're looking to bring in a dynamic young duo to run your midfield for years. Simons is one of the most electric young players in career mode and starts with a solid 83 rating, which should be enough to let him walk into almost any midfield in world football.
If you invest the time and resources in Xavi after convincing Leipzig to let him join your club, he can reach a sky-high 89 rating, according to his max potential. While it will take effort and possibly many years for Xavi to become the best version of himself, it's worth it when you see the final product.
8 Rose Lavelle – NJ/NY Gotham FC
On the other side of the coin, Rose Lavelle is an excellent veteran presence to bring into your locker room if you're trying to rebuild one of the women's teams in EA FC 25. While she's almost 30 by the time you begin your first season, Lavelle's 87 rating will help to provide everything you could want from a midfielder.
While she likely won't be around for the duration of your rebuild, Rose Lavelle is an excellent player who can bridge the gap between a rebuilding team and a successful club.
7 Pedri – FC Barcelona
While Pedri might have been first on this list if everything went according to plan, injuries have plagued his development in real life, though he still has plenty left to give. However, if you're able to maintain his health in-game, then Pedri is easily one of the most complete midfielders in EA FC 25.
His price won't be cheap as he's already an 86-rated player, but Pedri's 90 potential makes him one of the most dynamic players you can buy. Even if he eats up your entire budget, Pedri should provide enough benefit to your team to justify splashing a lot of cash.
6 Martin Odegaard – Arsenal
If you're impatient or decided to take over a team in win-now mode, then Martin Odegaard is the finished product if you need an explosive midfielder. While he functions best as an attacking midfielder, you can move Odegaard further back if you want to focus on his passing and dribbling.
Odegaard is also an excellent player to use in your Premier League squad in Ultimate Team.
However, we're getting into the big bucks, as any midfield option you might want from here on out is likely to cost somewhere in the region of $100 million. Luckily, you might be able to get Odegaard for less if you're shrewd or include a player in a swap.
5 Federico Valverde – Real Madrid
Federico Valverde is similar to Pedri, but performs slightly better on the defensive end, in part due to his superior height and strength. Physical attributes aside, Valverde also starts with a higher rating than Pedri at 88 and even has a 91 potential to eclipse his peers in that regard.
If you need a controlling presence with some experience and someone who still has room to grow, Valverde is one of the best options available to you, as he brings a lot to the table while still being capable of even more.
4 Jamal Musiala – Bayern Munich
Jamal Musiala might be slightly behind Valverde's overall rating at the start of your career mode save, but this explosive young midfielder has the potential to reach a 93 rating and is still only 21 years old.

3 Florian Wirtz – Bayer Leverkusen
Staying in the Bundesliga, we turn our attention to one of the other best attacking midfielders in EA FC 25, Florian Wirtz. Wirtz enjoyed an invincible season with Bayer Leverkusen in 2023-24, and his incredible combination of an 88 starting rating and 92 potential makes him a direct competitor to Musiala.
Given that the two players are also the same age, it's impossible to separate them as they even boast similar alternate positions to boot. Ultimately, the choice between Musiala and Wirtz will come down to preference and which team is willing to make a deal.
2 Aitana Bonmatí – FC Barcelona Femeni
Aitana Bonmatí claims the crown as the best central midfielder on the women's side of the game, as the Balon d'Or winner offers exceptional Dribbling, Passing, and Shooting abilities, especially considering her position.
Bonmati, like Pedri, will be difficult to pry from Barcelona's hands, but the effort is worth it.
Unfortunately, this transfer is difficult, as few other women's teams would have the budget to pull it off, so you may need to start with another powerhouse to get Bonmati to join.
1 Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid
Speaking of difficult transfers to pull off, Jude Bellingham is the best midfielder to sign in EA FC 25, but also the most challenging, given his unfathomable 90 rating to start to go along with 94 potential.
He's easily the most expensive player (along with Erling Haaland) in career mode, but adding Jude to your team will nearly guarantee the club's success for the foreseeable future. Jude is the best pure central midfielder in EA FC 25 and boasts an incredible skillset that can define the history of your club.
