As a weapon type, the Hammers of Elden Ring have several drawbacks. They have extremely short range, often uninspiring movesets, and they don’t have the raw damage to compensate for those shortcomings. As a result, you won't find many Hammers on lists of the best weapons in Elden Ring.

That said, some Hammers have unique designs that make them interesting options. Of course, unique doesn’t always mean good; this list notably does not include Varre’s Bouquet, a strange Hammer which might be the worst weapon in Elden Ring. Still, quite a few Hammers can be viable options if you know how to use them.

The Club is not a particularly good weapon. It has low damage and suffers from all the weaknesses generally present in Hammers as a weapon type. Several of the Hammers that didn’t make this list are, strictly speaking, more powerful options (though it’s probably still better than Varre’s Bouquet).
However, if you’re looking to start bonking your enemies right out of the gates, you’ll need a starting class with a Hammer. And the Wretch starts with the Club. Again, it’s far from a powerhouse. But for players with a very specific goal in mind, the Club is the only option.

The basic Hammer, found in the copy of the Roundtable Hold in Leyndell, Royal Capital has one thing going for it: it’s the longest Hammer you can give Affinities to. The more unique weapons later on this list are more powerful, but they don’t have the same versatility this weapon does.
The difference in length isn’t huge, but in a group of weapons with a significant reach problem, every extra pixel helps. At the very least, it should make hammering your way through the Lands Between a slightly less frustrating experience.

Are you looking for a Hammer that has good Dexterity scaling? Well, here it is. The Monk's Flamemace gets A scaling in Dexterity when given the Keen Affinity. Why would anyone want that? Well, certain enemies in Elden Ring have particularly thick skin (think the Crystalians), causing your attacks to bounce off them, and most Dexterity weapons are too light to get through.

The Monk’s Flamemace deals Strike damage and hits hard, making it an option for Dexterity builds that are having trouble with such enemies. If you’re willing to farm the Fire Monks that wield it (they’re not exactly the most convenient enemies to farm), you can have a solid secondary weapon for your Dexterity build as early as Liurnia of the Lakes.
7 Spiked Club

The Spiked Club is one of the few Hammers with innate Bleed buildup. The Morning Star has better base damage, but when given the Occult Affinity, the Spiked Club gets A scaling in Arcane, allowing it to out-damage its counterpart. And since Bleed is exceptionally strong in Elden Ring, the Spiked Club has a significant advantage over other hammers, even if using a Hammer to trigger bleed is suboptimal compared to any other option.
However, extremely low stat requirements and the fact that you can pick it up in Elden Ring’s starting area mean the Spiked Club can be a decent early-game option for Bleed builds if you’re willing to farm some Demi-Humans. Remember, it only drops from the Demi-Humans who wield it, so don’t waste your time killing any others.
6 Stone Club

A big part of the appeal of using the more conventional clubs is the simple joy of bonking things on the head with a stick. Or, in this case, a rock. The Stone Club is one of several Hammers with virtually identical base damage and A scaling when given the Heavy Affinity.
However, while the letter is the same, the Stone Club actually has the best scaling out of all of them and ends up getting the most damage. If your goal is just to dump all your levels into Strength and run around whacking your enemies like a caveman, you can grab the Stone Club by killing the Battlemages you can find at multiple locations during your journey through the Lands Between.

The walking stick, the Scepter of the All-Knowingof Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing can be acquired after you kill him in the game’s final stages. It’s one of the longest Hammers and the only one with innate Intelligence scaling. As a result, it deals a significant amount of Magic damage, which synergizes with its Weapon Skill, Knowledge Above All.
The skill causes a debuff that reduces nearby enemies’ resistance to Magic and Holy damage by ten percent. It’s not a massive debuff; it also affects you, so using it carelessly might get you into trouble against certain enemies. Even so, it’s a useful tool for spellcasters needing extra damage.
4 Nox Flowing Hammer

The Nox Flowing Hammer is the shortest Hammer in Elden Ring, compounding on the weapon type's overall reach problem. However, it deals great damage, and its Weapon Skill allows it to reach much further than most other Hammers. The Flowing Form skill causes your Hammer to stretch dramatically as you swing it in a wide circle around your head before slamming it down on your enemies, often pancaking them.
Getting this weapon will require some serious exploration, though; it’s in Nokron, Eternal City (an optional area), and you have to do some parkour out windows and over rooftops to reach it.
3 Envoy’s Horn

The Envoy's Horn is one of several weapons in Elden Ring that really shows off FromSoftware’s unusual sense of humor. Using the Weapon Skill, Oracular Bubble, plays music while firing a small, slow-moving bubble of Holy magic. It is also an example of how appearances can be deceiving; this silly trumpet weapon can actually do some real damage.

It’s not the absolute boss-shredder that its longer counterpart, the Envoy’s Longhorn, can be, nor does it have the raw damage of the Envoy’s Greathorn. Still, the Envoy’s Horn has one significant advantage over them both: Speed. Against especially aggressive and fast-moving enemies, you often won’t have time to use the weapon skills of the larger bubble weapons. Oracular Bubble, on the other hand, comes out fast enough to take advantage of small windows. If you’re playing a build based around bubble weapons, the Envoy’s Horn will be a necessary part of your toolkit. To get it, you’ll need to farm the Oracle Envoys in Leyndell, Royal Capital and Miquella’s Haligtree.

On a list of weapons with some truly unusual designs, the Ringed Finger still manages to stick out like a sore thumb (pun intended). Ignoring the bizarre appearance, this weapon has a lot going for it: it has decent damage for a Hammer and is tied for the longest Hammer in the game.
Perhaps most impressive is the Weapon Skill, Claw Flick, which causes the Finger to swell, then flick out, sending smaller enemies flying and dealing surprisingly effective damage. Like the Envoy’s Horn, it’s much better than it has any right to be. Unfortunately, to get the Ringed Finger, you’ll have to delve into the Gelmir Hero’s Grave, a Catacombs that is even more frustrating than most Hero’s Graves since there’s lava everywhere.

You know that attack Radagon does, where he leaps into the air and then slams down his hammer, causing an explosion of holy light? Well, Marika's Hammer lets you do the same thing with its Weapon Skill, Gold Breaker.
You don’t get any of Radagon’s other powers, sadly, but this particular ability lives up to the hype, dealing massive damage to anything it hits. You won’t get to experience that joy until you’ve beaten the game, as you need to trade the Elden Remembrance with Enia at the Roundtable hold to get it. And the Elden Remembrance drops from the final boss, making Marika’s Hammer a weapon that will primarily be used in New Game Plus.
