Getting the hang of Enotria: The Last Song's combat can be tricky.
PostsThere’s no map in the game, so it can get tough to keep track of where you’ve already been and which areas are yet to be explored. While the game does give you hints, you’re the one who has to piece these hints together to figure out where exactly you have to go for the next chapter, and it is no easy task.
How To Progress Into Chapter 2
To start Chapter 2, you have to defeat Curtis, Prince of Laughter first, and then make your way to Zanni, The First Mask. Defeating Zanni unlocks the Theater of the Masks hub, and from there, you can talk to Pulcinella, who is sitting on the stage in front of the Theater of the Masks Knot to get a hint on how to progress to Chapter 2.
Pulcinella will show you an image of an opened gate and talk about Falesia Magna, which is the name of Chapter 2. However, if you return to the School of Zanni Knot and start to progress from there, you may encounter another open door, which leads you to a boss battle against Baldovino.
Baldovino is an exceptionally tough boss in the early game and guards the access to Litumnia, Chapter 3. You may defeat the Boldovino to access Litumnia before Chapter 2 to get your hands on late-game materials, but that’s not where you’re supposed to go to progress the game’s story.
How To Reach Falesia Magna
To get to Falesia Magna, you have to return to the Field of Beginnings Knot in Quinta. It is the first Knot you rest at after completing the initial tutorial. From there, you have to progress through the field and go right at the crossroads.
You will find the gate that was locked before has been unlocked. If you pass through the gate, you’ll be able to rest at the West Cliff Knot, and progressing further will bring you to the Lumberjack boss battle.
How To Defeat Lumberjack Boss
The Lumberjack boss is quite similar to the stronger version of the enemy found throughout Quinta. The Lumberjack boss is also affiliated with the Vis element, similar to the Lumberjack enemy.
Due to the Vis affinity, Lumberjack Boss is weak to the Fatuo element. Using any weapon or Mask Line infused with Fatuo can be extremely effective in this fight, such as the Funereal Flamberge Colossal Greatsword and the Deadly Culling Mask Line.Lumberjack Boss has the same attacks as the regular version of the enemy, with the addition of a few minor attacks such as the stomp. You can easily defeat him by repeatedly parrying his basic attack combos to Unravel him and then using a Finishing Attack to deal a ton of damage.
If you’re having trouble with the boss, you can also equip the Guise of Zanni to get additional Armonia Flask charges, which can make the fight drastically easier.
After you’ve defeated the Lumberjack Boss, you can approach the stone with the image of a tribal mask on it to get the prompt of traveling to Falesia Magna.
