In Final Fantasy 14, minions don't really do much outside of the competitive minigame Lord of Verminion. Many players are just happy to summon their favorite minion to follow them around on all their adventures throughout Eorzea and perform a cute animation or two, and with over 500 minions to choose from, there's sure to be one for everyone!

The 20 Cutest Minions In Final Fantasy 14

Essentially cosmetic-only familiars, these Final Fantasy 14 minions are extremely adorable and highly coveted by nearly every player.

There are cute and creepy minions, some are common, some are rare, some fall somewhere in between, and some can be bought while others must be earned. If you're a cat-lover, you're probably wondering if there are cat minions, and fortunately, there are several! So here's a guide to getting the cutest ones available right now.

11 Nagxian Cat

Nobility And Grace Personified

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

The Nagxian Cat was added in the Endwalker update, released in late 2021. This cat resembles the real-world Siamese breed with a pale beige body and darker extremities. Its large light blue eyes are stunning and said to be able to see ghosts, according to its in-game description.

If you want to get the Nagxian Cat, you'll need to obtain 800 Sacks of Nuts. You can complete these by killing certain monsters for hunts; either Endwalker or Dawntrail Hunts will do, so feel free to do both. Once you have 800 Sacks of Nuts, this cat can be purchased from J'lakshai in Old Sharlayan or Wilmetta in Radz-at-Han.

10 Bluecoat Cat

Regal But Sweet

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

The Bluecoat Cat is thought to come from northern Aldenard, though no one knows where this cat is from. Sharlayan recently began a breeding program at the Studium, making the cats popular there too.

However, you can't purchase the Bluecoat Cat at any of those locations. If you want to call this beautiful kitty your own, you'll need another 800 Sacks of Nuts. Having been added in the Dawntrail update, it's only natural you have to go to Tuliyollal to buy the cat. Once you have your nuts, go to Ryubool Ja and trade them for your brand-new kitty.

9 Palico

A Punny Felyne Pal

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

Palicos are a race of cat-like creatures from Monster Hunter, called Felynes. When Final Fantasy 14 had a crossover with Monster Hunter World back in Stormblood, players were given access to plenty of rewards, including gear and furniture. This little Felyne was one such reward.

Obtaining the Palico minion is fairly simple, all you have to do is complete the level 70 Stormblood quest "The New King on the Block". You can get this quest from the Heart Hunter near Bokairo Inn in Kugane; you'll need to unlock and complete the trial The Great Hunt to complete this quest but, once you do, you'll have your very own Palico.

8 Weatherproof Gaelicat

Ready For The Coerthas Chill

  • Can be obtained in the Market Board

This cute Gaelicat is a friend, not a foe. Its description ponders if its wintry garb is part of its body, as a way to adapt to the frigid Coerthas climate. Its plump size, however, comes simply from overeating.

You can get a Weatherproof Gaelicat of your own by helping with the Ishgard restoration - specifically the Kupo of Fortune event, which can net you many other prizes as well. If you don't feel up to a game of chance, however, then you're in luck.

7 Ilyikty'i

The Coeurl of Yak T'el

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

The Ilyikty'i resembles a leopard cub. It's said in their item description that these cats are revered by the Xbr'aal, who have been known to take lost cubs in to train them to become capable hunters in their own right.

If you want your very own baby hunter, you'll need to put in the work for it. You need to reach Shared FATE rank 4 in Yak T'el in order to purchase one from the gemstone trader. To do this, you must complete 66 FATES in order to get your Shared FATE rank high enough, and once you do, you can purchase the Ilyikty'i for 700 Bicolor Gemstones.

6 Byakko Cub

Bringer Of Good Luck

  • Can be obtained in the Market Board

Byakko Cub may not actually be the descendant of the auspice lord Byakko but, according to its journal description, this cute little kitty is sought after by Hingans in hopes of turning their luck around for the better.

There are a few ways to get this minion. First, you can craft the tiger cub from the Master Weaver 6 book with the right materials, which you can buy from the market board. If you'd rather try your luck, Byakko Cub can be found in Materiel Container 4.0 and the lockboxes frpm Southern Front and Zadnor.

5 Gaelikitten

Coerthas' Cutest Cat

  • Can be obtained in the Market Board

Gaelicats are possibly the cutest enemy in all of Coerthas. They resemble gray tabby cats with green coats and bat wings. If you fought one and got sad because you couldn't keep it, then you're in luck. The Gaelikitten minion is perfect for you.

Normally, they're a rare drop from the level 53 Heavensward dungeon, Sohm Al. They can drop from the Bronze-trimmed Sacks in Palace of the Dead or come out of a Fete Present or Materiel Container 3.0.

4 Black Coeurl

No Bad Luck Here

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

Some say Black Coeurls bring bad luck if they cross your path, but you're going to need some good luck if you want to bring this little black cat home. According to his in-game journal description, this isn't a new type of coeurl.

His spots are just so large they completely overlap with each other, rendering the little guy black as night. If you want a Black Coeurl, your best bet is to head to the Golden Saucer. Keep playing the Mini-Cactpot and limited time events, and you'll have 20,000 MGP in no time.

3 Tora-jiro

Teeny Tiny Tiger Cub

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

Time to go back to the Hunts. Tora-jiro is an adorable tiger cub. His name may suggest he has an older brother but, according to his in-game description, his parents deny all accusations. What we can't deny is just how cute he is.

Unfortunately, if you want Tora-jiro to call your own, you're back to doing the Hunts, this time in Heavensward and Stormblood. Once you have all 800 seals, you can trade with Estrild in Kugane or Leuekin in Rhalgr's Reach to bring this tiger cub home.

2 Coeurl Kitten

Perfect For New Players

  • Cannot be obtained in the Market Board

Coeurls might be big and scary, but the same can't be said for their kittens. This minion is the size of your average kitten with a cute red collar and bell tied around his neck. According to his in-game description, it'll be a few summers before his trademark coeurl whiskers grow out.

Coeurl Kitten is luckily a fairly easy minion to get. You only need to be level 15 to pick up and complete the "Curiosity Killed the Coeurl" quest in Western La Noscea.
