Final Fantasy 7 Remake Actor Suggests Part 3 Is Further Along In Development Than We All Think
Summary
- Square Enix has been surprisingly open about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3's development over the last year.
- We know work is underway, but it seems that it might be further along than we thought.
- Cloud Strife's actor, Cody Christian, shared a story on Instagram suggesting that he's already started voiceover work.
A since-deleted Instagram post from the actor behind Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Cloud, Cody Christian, seems to suggest that Part 3 is further along in development than we all might have thought.
Even though it's only been just over a year since we got the humongous second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, Rebirth, Square Enix has already made it very clear that work is well underway for the third and final game. Ever since Rebirth released, we've heard plenty about Part 3's development, even including the fact that the story has been written.

Posts By Meg PelliccioStill, even with all of those updates being shared, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 still seemed like it was a ways off being released and that we wouldn't hear anything concrete about it for another year or two. That might not actually end up being the case, as an interesting update has been shared by one of the game's main actors.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Cloud Is Already Recording For Part 3
Looks Like It's Not As Far Off As It Seems
As pointed out by Twitter user Kevin_Cabeza14, the actor behind Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Cloud, Cody Christian, recently posted a story on his Instagram page showing him in a recording booth with a caption that says, "So happy to be back with my bestie". While that could mean anything, Christian also included a sticker of Cloud, indicating that he's recording voice lines for him in Part 3.
It seems that the post might have been removed from Christian's Instagram already, as I couldn't find it on there. Multiple people have shared screenshots of it, though, so it's either timed-out or been removed after being spotted.
Voice acting is usually done when a game is fairly late into development, so if Christian is already recording lines for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, it indicates that it's further along in development than we thought. It's inevitably going to be a massive game with tons of voice lines, so it's undoubtedly got a lot of work left to be done, but it's a positive sign that things are progressing well.
There's a chance that Christian is recording for something else to do with Cloud Strife, but it seems more likely that he's working on Remake Part 3 already. With that in mind, we might be hearing something about it sooner than we all thought.
