Flesh And Blood’s first release of 2023 is taking the TCG back to its melee-focused routes, with Outsiders taking us to a “sprawling web of underground caverns and canals”.
Launching March 24, 2023, Outsiders is the next major set for Flesh and Blood, following November’s Dynasty. With it, we’ll see a new limited gameplay environment, returning and new heroes, and a full array of prerelease events to celebrate.

According to Flesh And Blood’s creator James White, Outsiders will take the game back to “good old fashioned all-melee combat for the first time since Welcome to Rathe in 2019”, where heroes equipped weapons and armour and duked it out. While it will be designed with all formats in mind (including Constructed, Blitz, and Limited), limited players will have something extra special to look forward to, with a “new drafting dynamic never before seen in Flesh and Blood”.
Although we won’t hear more about this new drafting dynamic until the full reveal on January 10, we do know that Outsiders will be backed up by a series of organised events, starting with in-store prereleases from March 17-20, where players will draft the set and get their hands on the cards before the formal launch. Outsiders will also see the debut on “Monday Tournaments”, which, despite not being detailed by Legend Story Studios just yet, sounds similar in style to Magic: The Gathering’s Friday Night Magic events.
Competitive play following Outsiders is also being souped up, with a $1 million Pro Play Circuit kicking off a year of competitive events ending with the Pro Tour 3, to be hosted later in the year in the USA.
Flesh And Blood has had a big 2022, with the launches of Dynasty, Uprising, and the massively popular Everfest. It also saw the first-ever world champion, with the US’ Michael Hamilton taking home the prize at the World Championships held in November. Outsiders looks set to carry that energy into 2023 when it launches on March 24, 2023.
