Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have spotted a rat hiding in an old screenshot focused on Lucia, reigniting the theory that she's going to end up betraying Jason.

Considering how pretty much every Rockstar game has had some kind of betrayal or big twist, it's no surprise that fans have started to expect the unexpected from its stories. GTA 6 is no stranger to this, as there have been theories going around since the very first trailer that either Lucia or Jason would end up betraying the other.

Funnily enough, it started out with everyone thinking that Jason was some kind of undercover cop due to the bodycam footage and a single line in Trailer 2. That quickly changed around, though, as Lucia's constant gun presence shifted the blame over to her, something that's come up once again thanks to a rat hiding in the background of a screenshot.

Or GTA Fans Are Reading Too Much Into Things, You Decide

You'd think that all of the new screenshots of GTA 6 that we recently got alongside the start of pre-orders would be taking up most of the attention for GTA fans, but that apparently isn't the case. Over on Twitter, GTA6Alerts pointed out an interesting detail from a screenshot of Lucia that was released last year after Trailer 2. Yes, it's really been a year since the last trailer, I know.

The screenshot in question shows Lucia sitting on a bike in the streets of Vice City. GTA6Alerts pointed out that there's actually a single rat hiding on a rooftop above Lucia, which is something I've not noticed before despite seeing this image hundreds of times. It's not just a nice bit of detail, though, as GTA6Alerts pointed out that "Rockstar Games loves to foreshadow the future".

Before you get too excited, there's a chance the figure behind Lucia isn't even a rat and is just something sitting on the roof. That's not as much fun to theorise over, though, is it?

This is, of course, a nod to the theory that Lucia is going to be the one who ends up betraying Jason in GTA 6's story. Like I said, there's no real evidence that's going to be the case, but Rockstar fans are trained to expect some kind of upset. It's really small 'evidence' in the grand scheme of things, but it is fun to speculate on while we all patiently wait for any more details on the game's plot.

Of course, it's also worth pointing out how many times GTA fans have looked into screenshots for signs and then ended up being wrong, with this very same image even being used as a theory for Trailer 3 that never ended up happening. Combine that with the moon theory, Jason's watch, and the bullet hole braille, and I think we might have an answer already as to whether this is a clue or just a detail.
